So I used a size 6 mm J hook, and Bernat's Softee Cotton yarn, and I found I needed to chain *four* instead of three at the miter in order to shape my square correctly.

That should be fine. I often only crochet 2 at the start of a dc row or round because my chains are bigger. I also use a bigger hook for my foundation crochet because I start out tight but loosen up after a bit. Little changes like this will rarely affect your project, unless its something that has a lot of increases and decreases(a fitted item).

this is so pretty! Is there a way to add sleeves?? I like the dip in the front, like a slouch but I would need some kind of sleeve. Just wondering. I have 4 skeins of that yarn and im dying to use it!!!

@@fiberflux yay! I just need enough to cover the down to the elbow or 3/4. Some of us older ladies like to wear sexy clothes but hide the arm fat! Lol

If I want to make it longer as I have a long torso and also like to cover my waist, would I just add rows on the top? I though you mentioned at the start you'd explain how to make it longer but I didn't see it?
    Thanks

What size is this pattern meant to be. I wear an XL-2X, will I need to change Hook Size and/or Add Extra Rows?

Jennifer, this is just so lovely. Ive never made a garment like this. I have been working on 2 different shaws that you have made.. I love your shawls. I think i can do this and im going to try it. I think a solid color like this purple would be so gorgeous with a flowered shirt under it. With some small purple flowers. I just love your work and you do explain everything very well. I really like the way you explain how to do everything, thats really important to me. I have to decide what color i want mine and run to Michaels. And thank you so much for showing this and taking the time to do it.

    Hi Jennifer.
Thank you for this gorgeous easy top Your technique of growing the granny square on 2 sides is so clever. I’m making it for my granddaughter who loves crocheted garments. Her favourite is a boho lacy patterned sleeveless vest. If you have any ideas for something like that I’d be over the moon
Thank you for your patience , your time and your crafty designs. ❤

Really beautiful. But this is my first time working with granny square. So I have a doubt : As you repeat row 5 there are always 4 corners ? Because the bottom of my square is turning round. Thanks for your advise.
