I still remember going to the same high school(Escambia High School) as Emmitt Smith. I was a freshman, and he was a senior. I learned very fast how famous he was on campus. But watching how great he was on the field, convinced me why he was famous. I also had no clue, that he was going to be, one of the greatest running backs to ever play the game.

Emmitt!! This popped up in my feed but Emmitt is such a cool dude!! Years ago I worked at a golf course that held an annual celebrity charity tournament and Emmitt became friends with the all the guys in the pro shop and the girls in the snack bar. We were all friends (employees) and would often go out to bars after work/events. Emmitt and Jerry Rice would come out and party with us every year after the tournament. Both of those guys were so nice and so much fun! Both were super down to earth! I didn’t know any of the sports stars because I don’t watch sports but those two guys are my favorites.

Absolute class the way he carried himself on and off the field, a true winner, even winning Dancing with the Stars, even if you weren't a Cowboys fan, he was great to watch, kind of remember a Monday night game from '94, Dallas vs Detroit, he and Barry Sanders put on a clinic for how to carry the football, think they both carried the ball many times each, both he and Barry were true RUNNING backs, I rhink

My college buddies and I were pulled over in East St. Louis in 1974 with guns drawn. When the cops opened the trunk, it was full of beer as Illinois was 19 and Missouri and Arkansas was 21. The cop yelled to his buddies, "Oh, shit, it's just a bunch of college kids with beer! Get the hell outta here!" And they let us keep our beer. We were in the wrong part of town for sure.

Hated him as a player because he was so dam efficient and a Cowboy, one thing I did like about Emmitt as a player was every time he scored a touchdown and he scored many, he would give the ball to the nearest official, same as Barry, they nevered celebrated, never did anything to draw attention to themselves and away from the offensive unit as an whole.

I’ve been pulled over for dwm. Driving while Mexican. With guns drawn, they claimed the car I was driving was stolen. It was my own car. This was 20 years ago. This stuff has been going on and still goes on today in the hood with Latino and blacks.

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hell, I've been pulled over for DWBYWMOLAN - Driving While Being Young White Male Out Late At Night - by Dallas cops (I was born and raised there) with guns drawn. I've been threatened by Dallas cops, received 4 & 5 tickets every stop and told I should put my car on jacks and stop driving it, thrown in jail for trumped up burglary charges because my dad had a tool bag in the back seat floorboard (I was driving his car at the time) ... being black or Mexican has nothing on anyone else. Every guy I hung with when I was in my late teens has had a cop draw a gun on him and spent a night or two in jail and we were all white. Blacks and Mexicans like to think they are "oppressed" ... mostly they are just crybabies.

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

PS, In know exactly where Harry Hines Blvd is ... it runs from downtown Dallas out the northwest quadrant of Dallas just a mile west of Love Field and all the way to where LBJ Freeway intersects with Forest Lane and then it merges with I-35E northbound. Not only are there hos walking Harry Hines (in some places), but the largest medical complex in the state of Texas (Parkland Hospital and UT Southwestern Medical School) is located on Harry Hines near downtown. Dallas cops don't give a shit what color you are ... if they decide to harass you then they are going to harass you.

Dude, that sucks. Why did your own car come up stolen though.
That happened to my sister once. Her own truck, my brother in law's, anyway, pulled over and told her to get out the vehicle. She refused over and over because why? Her newborn baby was in the truck. And why? She did nothing wrong. It turns out the plates came back as stolen truck. What happened was the new white truck was in the shop for a day or two, and the thieves or whoever switched the plates. Of course she didn't notice.
Eventually, more cops showed and the vin number didn't match the license plate.
      Scary shit.
My brother in law later told her, "hon, you have to obey the police."

As quiet as it was kept I was a Big ES fan he just played for the wrong team. I laughed when I heard one of these so-called experts say Emmit will go late in the draft because he was slow and his size. 17th wasn't so bad. Emmitt earned my ultimate respect proving when he proved them all wrong .. Offensive Rookie of the year !! The State of Florida produced some first-class football players from this era ... That's one thing the MSM never points out and the public miss.
It's not always racial profiling or it's racial profiling because the race that commits the most crime in those areas are Minorities and the area has more Minorities than Whites anyway.
Plus many times it is a minority officer pulling over a minority.
It's sick the whole misinformation business of MSM and what Police deal with and have to go through.
No one reports from their POV and experience that leads to them proactively stopping people in fancy cars in the wrong neighborhoods.
(Not that I agree it's alright to do unwarranted stops, but we need to learn why and deal with the leading issues)

John Nasworthy I've had similar, but due to black privilege, the media will hide and deny any ties of the fact that the attackers were black. They have to keep blacks angry as the left knows that a happy black is a non-voting black. They will only report on the national black victimization hoax and lie.

Not only have I gotten driving while Black I have gotten Parked while Black.
I had 7 cops roll up on me while I was sitting in my car eating lunch. While the car is surrounded one officer approached from the back down the driver side. I asked what's up and they said that there was a robbery across the street by a Black Male.
Now mind you I am in a suit in a
S Class Mercedes, listening to classical music as I am eating my lunch.
I asked, if I just robbed the jewelry store across the street, do you think that I would be sitting ACROSS the street eating a sandwich?
Yeah, and this was not in the South or like him in Texas, it was Seattle. I still ended up having to wait until they could drive a lady by in a patrol car to see if she could identify me. O_o

(as if that makes a difference). Smith and Washington were pulled over -- at night -- while driving in an area known for prostitution and drug dealing. And they "got lost."
