Welcome to Zentangle Project Pack No. 16 and the 2021 Twelve Days of Zentangle series!
Tangle along with Rick as he and Maria guide you through the 2nd lesson in the Project Pack No. 16 series.
You can view the introduction video to this series here: • Zentangle Project Pack...
It has become an annual Zentangle tradition for us to celebrate the holiday season with a series we call The Twelve Days of Zentangle. For twelve consecutive days, we will deliver daily tangling lessons, guiding you through the steps to create festive tangled works of art that are all part of the same theme.
This Zentangle series offers us a moment to pause and reflect on the past year. As the year unfolded, we hope you were able to lean on your Zentangle practice and focus on the beautiful things that came through. Together we will in-crease our skills while navigating this part of our journey one stroke at a time. In this year-end series, we will be looking closely between the layers and folds of our Zentangle practice. As we score some new tools for our tangling toolbox, we will dig into some creative, tangled ways to celebrate and illuminate your Zentangle art. We will work with dimensionality and play with illusions.
Upload your work to the Zentangle Mosaic App or other social media with the hashtag #PP16Day02 and #12DaysofZentangle2021

As I'm watching Rick draw that particular Paradox that he came up with several years ago, I'm thinking "Why in the world did I not see how easy that is long before today???" I've tried repeatedly over the last eight, or so, years to figure it out, but never got it right. Now, drawing along with Rick, it's "easy as pie"!

Thank you so much Maria and Rick, I really really enjoyed watching you create these Tangling patterns, and Paradox is one of my favourite Tangles too. I really really love ❤️ how you’ve made this into an ornament out of two Tiles. Fabulous and fantastic too. I really really love ❤️ how they turned out. So very very stunning and gorgeous too.... and it’s so nice to see when things go wrong, how you rectified it Rick. Well done. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags

Great idea on the gel pens! I have a "supply" of them on a regular basis, so I'm glad I haven't gotten rid of them yet 😍!

Using my own supplies, I did this with grey toned sketch paper. Scored with an exacto knife (extremely light touch), and used a glue stick to glue the sides. The glue stick was actually easier than gluing with Modge Podge. But I'm planning to get some as I like the shiny look, so my ornament is a WIP. What fun to really practice Paradox again. I also used monofilament line instead of thread which also works great. Thanks Rick. This project was a great meditation for a wet and dreary California day...a great play!

Loved this one too. Coated mine with Wink of Stella sparkle and hung on my tree. I glued each tab as I put it together and just held it for a few minutes. Was very easy.

I have been drawing rounded paradox lines for years. Its such a versatile tangle and surprises one in that it works on curves too. Even after the failed 5 rubberband squish, you made your ornament pop out with beauty. I can hardly wait to try this tomorrow. Such fun!

I like the idea of making this into an ornament. I might try this with smaller circles - and fewer rubber bands!

I think using different colored inks on each side (one red and one green) or one gold and one red would be lovely.

    • @jb6712
      @jb6712 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Just because it's one of my favorite colors ever, I was thinking of Cobalt Blue and Turquoise on one, and Cobalt Blue and white on the other, to make a really spectacular blue "galaxy" ornament of sorts. It'd be quite "spiffy" as it turned in a slight breeze---I always have a fan running in my home, just for the needed air circulation---but in any color combo, it'd be quite beautiful.

That’s a great idea for sharing & enjoying Zentangle. And I love a funny mistake I thought “too much bands!!!”. It made me more friendly to think tying it. Thank you for the idea of beautiful ornament. The Christmas is mostly over now here, but I will decorate for New year’s day colored with deep red and white. From Japan.

Yes, the steps to draw paradox (draw, turn, draw) is easy. BUT, drawing each line that is curved not wobbly, equidistant not varied is hard.

Because by drawing only straight lines, you create a curve : a paradox. M

It would make a great gift box , stuffed with tissue for earrings, etc., small charms, and I would definitely use red, green, gold /silver ! Fun!! Can’t wait to get mine done I’m still on day one due to airline and weather delays - Buffalo 🦬 ought to be called Windy 🌃 city!

Yes, I was thinking that it would make a good box. My sister loves little boxes, so I think I’ll try to make one for her!
I was also thinking that if you cut the centers of each side arc, you might be able to do it entirely without glue … which would allow you to fold it flat for storage. I’ll have to try that see if it will actually hold together!
