I was a roadie for these fellows for a while. Back when they were touring Ontario, I went meet them when they played in North Bay and asked for a job as a roadie while they toured Northern Ontario. I stayed with them until they hit Iroquois Falls and then decided to step aside to give another big fan an opportunity. They treated me like a brother. Summers in the 70's...those are times I'll never forget.
14 years old in 1971, discovering these guys as a young teen was amazing! About the same time I found the Band..and they could all sing much like Levon,Richard and Rick..the early 70's was rich with Canadian bands and talent..The Guess Who, Blood Sweat and Tears, Michel Pagliaro, Ian and Sylvia, Gordon Lightfoot, The Belles, The Poppy Family..could go on and on..loved the 70's..and of course from the Brits,USA, Sweden and elsewhere..my fave decade!
It was in the 70's, wife had been diagnosed w/ scyz's. In our early 20's. Pretty tough back then. They wanted to do shock therapy, couldn't sign papers. Drove home and boke down to this song. Now in my 50's this song still has a major impact, impact to the good. What a life. As a Canadian proud that you guys came up with this. Thanks.
This song has been stuck in my head for a while. I had to come here to give it a listen. Takes me back. The baritone guitar section sort of reminds me of Glen Campbell.
this is the song that was playing when i proposed to my wife back in 74...finally got to see and meet them in person when they came to Thompson,Manitoba in 2007
This was one of my favorite groups. I feel like there were so underrated and they've done so many great songs. They deserve more credit than they got❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This song has the simple ability to change your mood into something i can only decribe as peaceful. A friend played a CD at work one day and this song came on. It was a song that i had forgotten from childhood. It has never left me since. Well Done!
I too was born in '58. Unfortunately, I never made it to High School. No, I ran away from home at a VERY young age. By the time I arrived in Alberta, these guys had retired. I love 'em (none the less)!
Susan Wallace, I too was born in '58, (July 11 to be exact). Unlike you though, I have never seen them in concert. (Shame on me)!!! BUT... I will never forget them!
I heard this song live tonight. Unbelievably Kim might sound better than ever. I'm so grateful for the chance to have finally heard this song and many others... Thanks so much guys for all you've shared with us.
What a great song and performance! I never heard this growing up- we in the USA heard too little Canadian music by Canadian artists. Thanks for sharing this! I'm now a Stampeders fan!
puts me in the back seat of a big old 60;s sedan...great music coming thru a mono AM radio station..cruising the streets about 7 years old not a care in the world.... ;)
The song is so simple and beautiful yet conveys so much feeling. Really no need for the rap and other misogynistic music that's out there right now. This tops all of them any day. Reminds me of Lighthouse's song Pretty Lady. Same sweet nostalgic feeling.
Absolutely a great song,,,I get so sick of listening to all that rap crap ,,auto tune ,,whining ,,drawn out songs that sounds just brutal,, like a cat just had his tail stepped on..
me too......70's music had more genres than any decade...we (70's) seem to think that anyways...great tunes from Abba to Zappa..the blanket has been spread..cheers
We were there in London Ontario in the early 70's. Dancing to their music at the Western Fair in 1973.Those were the days. So happy. Saw and heard them again in Campbell River BC in 2017 magical.
I opened up for them with my band in ‘93, this song was the highlight, I remember the girl I was dating then loving this song , it’s a beautiful song .
I remember hearing this song on a Grey Hound bus one year and didn't know the name or artist,,,then heard it on the radio and waited for the DJ to say the name of the song and the band name,,so here I am...great song ,,love it.
Great Tunes- thank you for uploading this. LIke the other comments - this song brings me back to the simple 70s childhood. Man I wish it was easy for my kids today - so much fear and paranoia everywhere and no electronics!! this is a happy loving song!
My wife passed 13 years ago. She was my “lady” and I miss her like blazes. I quite often listen to this song and it brings tears to my eyes too. But that’s o.k.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Rick. May she rest in peace. I can see why this song would make you cry....thinking of her. It's a beautiful song about a love one. You take care my friend and if you have children, they will always raleigh around you. I won't go into the details, but people who loved her and you will help you get through the days.
I've been a huge fan of theirs since I was a teenager. Rich looked so much like my uncle Grant. I had the pleasure to see them perform in Calgary with Gary and Dave. Later on I had an amazing opportunity to work with several well known rock bands from all over including Heart and April Wine
ontnurse2 I just recently discovered them, listening to a Winnepeg oldie station. This great song didn't chart in the States. Also discovered Trooper's "Two for the Show" .. fantastic no States chart song.
Love it , Love it....still sounds great after all these years..remember seeing them and the big ole cowboy hat and double geetar....Canadian Rock at its best...
one of the best bands that come from Canada, thanks guys, I here your touring again, make your way to st Thomas Ontario next year for our IRON HORSE FAIR IN AUGUST.WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU GUYS AGAIN
I recently attended a 50th annivesary concert in Nova Scotia. These guys are still awesome in their 70's. Small crowd compared to this video, but I guess a lot of people from this era may be gone now.
I'm building a time machine..and I'm travelling back to the times when I jammed dimes and nickels into the jukeboxes to hear beauties like this over and over and over..and I'm gonna find a nice moonlit beach where there's a warm summer breeze blowing and gentle waves are lapping at the shore..and I'm going to lay back in the sand while the music of that era plays all day and all night..and I'm never comin' back...
One of the best songs ever to miss the Billboard Hot 100 altogether. I've always loved it, and I'm not Canadian. So cool that the trio renamed themselves to match the CFL football team from their hometown.
Wow, I discovered this one listening to a Canadian oldies station over internet radio around 2016 .. How did this one miss being a hit in the states? It’s on my playlist of all time favorites ...
tyme4mike----I couldnt have said it any better. back to a time when life was so much simpler. I spent 2 weeks on Kauai in 2010 listening to great tunes like this with my wife, and i would give my left testicle to go back there and never come back again.
this is so nostalgic, can't believe my family and many of my friends aren't around no longer (i'm listening to this for them)damn time fly's *great song*

Beautiful bar none. Tops by all accounts.
One of our best from the 70s
Saw them perform a few times at the Calgary Stampede in the early 70s and still listening in 2020. Back when bands had more talent than celebrity.
Now that is a beauty.. Thank you Stampeders
Simple and beautiful....an innocence you feel..Kim has such a wonderful voice...they all complement each other...sweet music..
Fond memories of better times. They still touch my heart and soul.
Canadian songwriters put all their heart in the music and still continue be great at it.Proud to be a Canadian.

I love this song and band. Underrated. Explains the great music we had back then
A Stampeder fan I was, and am. This was my favorite as a teen and an adult! Glad I grew up in the 70's

Love this band! So down to earth! Was raised in the area, and loved it. Love this drummer. He can sing and drum, does it well!
This song has the simple ability to change your mood into something i can only decribe as peaceful. A friend played a CD at work one day and this song came on. It was a song that i had forgotten from childhood. It has never left me since. Well Done!

Just a great tune from a great Canadian band!
The seventies had some wonderful Canadian bands. Where has our talent gone.
How did I miss this voice back in the day?? What a great vocalist! Will definitely look for more.
Wow...nothing like the 70's music 🎶 even though I was young, the best tunes 🎶 came from the 70s
yes very true
... and the 60s too!
yeah there's something about 70s music that is so calm and relaxing
along with " april wine "...and " the guess who "...the biggest internal canadian band of the first half of the 70 's .
Then came RUSH in the mid 70's, and the best Canadian band of all time.
That would be a great concert today.
We miss those bands, a sweet simpler kind of honest music. a person had to have a good set of vocals
Trooper too
Just seen them live in Cornwall! What a show it was, glad i got to see them with my dad before they’re gone with the wind ❤️🤟🏽
I just left their concert. Loved it so much. Did this one....so beautiful.

The pride and joy of Cdn music
The BAND as well

I've loved this song from my childhood years up until now...

Darrell Turner Wonderful memories forever :)
Another great tune that you don't hear very often...
My childhood song, warm summer nights on my bike, ice cream and this song blasting from the juke box at the chocolate shop. ❤️ I’m 54 now.
I recently attended a 50th annivesary concert in Nova Scotia. These guys are still awesome in their 70's. Small crowd compared to this video, but I guess a lot of people from this era may be gone now.
Shame; even Guys my age in their 60's never experienced or remember their genius. Then I start naming songs and it's like "that was the Stampeders"?
Saw them last night. The original power trio. They were awesome and funny too!
My first concert ever STAMPEDERS 1974 Powell River B.C Awesome!!!
I'm glad to be able to listen to this song at these times.
Recollection of my thoughts and time that has passed .62 is no spring chicken.I first heard this song at 14 back in the 70s.
Just one of this great band's many great songs.
