Stellar views of this amazing estate!!!! We have never been here, but would love to go someday. The views of the Hudson are spectacular and the story behind the island is so intriguing. Thank you for the history. Loved seeing you guys get goofy at the end...it totally made our day and it made us feel like we were right there with you! Helps ease the sting of not getting the chance to be there in person! Have an amazing rest of your weekend and we will talk to you soon!
Thank you so much!! I’ve seen this strange place for years and being that the Hudson scares me to where I will never kayak it, we finally took the safe way onto the island. 😂😂🙌🏽 We’ll get through the freezing temps and get back to adventuring soon, we miss you tons!!! ❤️❤️Thank you for watching!
I so LOVED this beautiful Island and the ruins of the Castle:)!! It must have been wonderful to live there, except for the ammunition arsenal, LOL:)! I so LOVED how you guys filmed the ruins of the Castle with 2 butterflies hovering over the garden:)!! The garden and the view of the Hudson River is so gorgeous:)!! And the Lady that used to play the piano late at night, I would have felt really spooked out doing that in this location:)!! I wonder if any of the ghosts were seen in recent years? Thank you for sharing this stunningly gorgeous Castle ruins, gardens, butterflies, Hudson River view, and all the history:)!! It is interesting that there were only 5 owners since the Revolution and that the Ferry Sunk 1950, a fire destroying the Castle on Aug. 8th 1969, and that even the early Dutch Settlers stayed as much as the Native Indians had minimal use from this Island:)!! So much legend and possible ghosts:)!!!
We're so glad you enjoyed!! I was so delighted by the butterflies on that day I had my back to our tour guide half the time just trying to film them! 😬 It was really special getting to see the place up close, because it's such a cool and strange landmark on the river. It's very out of character for the rest of the architecture in the area - Mr. Bannerman had a fantastic idea. 😃 I would not have been able to play an old out of tune piano in that abandoned castle when it was intact, I'd be terrified! 😳 👻 😂 Thank you so much for watching! 🦋 ✌️
Awesome as always! I remember watching a piece crime piece in a couple visiting this island, the guy didn't make it back from the island. Very beautiful place!!!💜💜
@@JMExplorations awesome thanks I kinda figured seeing y'all colabed together we just hit camp LaGuardia last night but not sooooo easy to get in like you guys did and the snow march up the back hill was ROUGH lol
I wonder: who really built this magnificent castle in an abandoned island far from everything and in ancient times ? What technology did this building ? with horses and carts? how many people did it take to do this? where did they live ? where are their remains ? Where did they get food and shelter for this purpose ?
Hi! Thanks for watching! Bannerman Castle was definitely built by Frank Bannerman in 1901. All the materials all came right from the Hudson Valley. There's been a ferry back and forth to the island since Frank's time, and now. We're very grateful to have been able to visit. If this castle were ancient, we'd be Europeans! 😀
awesome video as always Amys narrative is amazing. Ryan always thinking how the acoustics sound lol

I used to go there for the weekend when I was a Sea Scout in the early eighties. we used to climb all over that place.
That’s so cool! You’ve seen it a good bit more intact then too, we’re sad so much of the castle portion has fallen over.

Omg it must be amazing treasures on that island can we bring metal detectors?
I wish we could! There's a lot to explore there just along the pathways though!
Sadly the buiding filled up with water It’s quiet a beautiful architectural of the history. Remarkable: the government should keep it in shape
Thankfully there's a preservation group that's keeping track of it now. Great place to tour too. Thanks for watching!

yall do paranormal?
Yes our main content is paranormal.
sucks that you need to pay for the tour
Paying for tours is how money goes to preserving and restoring locations like this, so that more people can actually see it. We're glad to do it.
@@FullDarkParanormal now that makes sense

I don't think we're the right target audience for that concert but thank you for stopping by.
