Since in Korean/Asian culture, a male being forward about his love and leading a girl, is seen as 'manly' and 'romantic'. It's even part of manga culture (Japanse comics), where a guy just slams his hand next to the head of a girl, and 'trap' her in which his body (like the locker scene). It's like saying 'hey, you caught my attention/I like you'. The actual tittle of the song is translated to 'Manly Man' or 'Real Man'. So in the lyrics they saying how they are feeling confused by this girl and are not sure she's into them, so they decide to confess and make their feelings clear. A lot of (Western/I-) ARMY's however have addressed feeling uncomfortable about how Big Hit portrait the boys in this MV before, same for some of their older lyrics. And after the feedback from fans and critics alike, BTS really started to educate themselves more about actual real violence woman and children are facing in this society. RM especially, he was really torn about the issue. He was spotted reading the 'Breaking Out of the Man Box' by Tony Porter. This got reflected into song like '21 Century Girl' and 'Not Today'. And now BTS are ambassadors of the Love Myself campaign since last year. They basically sponsor #ENDViolence, a UNICEF campaign based around making the world a safer place so that that children and teenagers will be able to live happy and healthy lives, without living in the fear of violence. Personally, I can't really watch the MV without cringing (same for the LA version, for different reasons lol). But I understand that at the time, it fitted with the story line and this 'wild boys' school theme they had going on. Still, I'm glad they are more aware of how there things can come across on a more global note. Sorry, long post. But I hoped it helped a bit.

While most Korean/fans didn't think anything was wrong with it, and were going crazy about it how 'hot' it was. Since in Korean/Asian culture, a male being forward about his love and leading a girl, is seen as 'manly' and 'romantic'. It's even part of manga culture (Japanse comics), where a guy just slams his hand next to the head of a girl, and 'trap' her in which his body (like the locker scene). It's like saying 'hey, you caught my attention/I like you'. The actual tittle of the song is translated to 'Manly Man' or 'Real Man'. So in the lyrics they saying how they are feeling confused by this girl and are not sure she's into them, so they decide to confess and make their feelings clear. A lot of (Western/I-) ARMY's however have addressed feeling uncomfortable about how Big Hit portrait the boys in this MV before, same for some of their older lyrics. And after the feedback from fans and critics alike, BTS really started to educate themselves more about actual real violence woman and children are facing in this society. RM especially, he was really torn about the issue. He was spotted reading the 'Breaking Out of the Man Box' by Tony Porter. This got reflected into song like '21 Century Girl' and 'Not Today'. And now BTS are ambassadors of the Love Myself campaign since last year. They basically sponsor #ENDViolence, a UNICEF campaign based around making the world a safer place so that that children and teenagers will be able to live happy and healthy lives, without living in the fear of violence. Personally, I can't really watch the MV without cringing (same for the LA version, for different reasons lol). But I understand that at the time, it fitted with the story line and this 'wild boys' school theme they had going on. Still, I'm glad they are more aware of how there things can come across on a more global note. Sorry, long post. But I hoped it helped a bit.

This is one of my fav songs! 😂😂😂 Actually what the guys did to the girls, in Korean dramas and Japanese dramas it's kinda like a fantasy scenario. The guy is rough like grabbing her arm and pulling her towards him or him trapping her on the wall. It's a sexy scenario. It doesn't go further than that though. But it's in almost always in Asian dramas. That's why I love watching Kdramas, they're extremely innocent with a hint of sexy.
