ROBIN's DEATH: Snyder explained, there was going to be a comic, but obviously never happened, they said no or whatever. Batman had told Robin to stay away from the Joker, that he was too dangerous, so ... Robin went to try and take care of the Joker to prove himself to Batman, and Joker kills him. So, that "dream" sequence you ARE supposed to understand that when Joker says "You sent a boy to do a man's job."
After watching this movie - twice - and your reaction video, I felt compelled to sit down and re-watch Dawn of Justice for a second time. I had missed so much on the first watch of BvS. Thanks for the inspiration, so many confusing things were cleared up when watching again - with future knowledge. As for Batman and guns, my take: in BvS there’s much emphasis on Batman’s being at it for 20 years - he’s an aging mortal. He can’t just be about fisticuffs anymore, he needs to diversify. And his anger at Superman - he lost friends and close business associates in BvS and two years later he’s still grieving. He was stuck in anger, the idea of another losing a loved one because of him brought him back to his humanity and right into acceptance. Grief can be that way.

The theatrical cut makes you laugh at the characters and make fun of them and the Snyder cut makes you cry for them and be with them, that’s the biggest part of why this is so much better for me
I went and watched the theatrical again, it's on HBO Max, and it does capture the essence of this except for the different, crappier ending. Obviously this has more character building because it is 4hrs long. The theme of this was what it should be, the different characters becoming a team and coming together. And the theatrical was more like Marvel style and also was Batman trying to get Wonder Woman to realize her full potential and to become the future leader. My rating would be Zack's is a 9.5 and I'll change Joss's from a 4 to a 6.
@@albertjackinson I was one who criticized Zack harshly since BvS I did enjoy MoS. But as time went on and I got older and more interested in appreciating his interpretation and artistic style I began to love his SnyderVerse. This movie really put an anchor of emotions on me in a positive way. If HBO Max were to allow Zack to pick this up again I'd be happy.

I really don't like when characters being taken seriously is considered a negative. That's really the only big issue people have with Zack's superheroes. These icons need to be treated like the gods they are.

There's a ton of dark DC comics, stories, animated shows and movies, so it's wierd to me when people say that we want to see light hearted DC stuff, when allot of it isn't light hearted.
Yep. The light hearted stuff mostly disappeared with the silver age of the comics (50's thru 60's) unless those people are thinking about the animated cartoons.
I straight up LOVED this movie. The 4 hours flew by in my opinion. Every single aspect of it felt improved from the previous version. I would give the theatrical cut a 5/10 and i'd honestly give this one a 9.5/10

More or less the Joker scene at the end was Zach Snyder admitting that he may never do a DC movie again and wanted a Batman Joker scene together. So he added it in for fan service and for himself wanting to direct that iconic scene of a Batman interacting with a Joker.
Suicide Squad came insanely close, literally the only thing separating Batman from Joker at one point was a car roof, but I'm so thankful this Cut went there.
@MortalGamerDC1 85 I've been looking at the scene as a prequel to the "Knightmare" sequence from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I personally consider them part of the original timeline before Bruce got the warning from future-Barry.
@@mattb6369 Justice League 2 would actually mostly taken part in A knightmare timeline, Superman would still be brainwashed by Darkseid but as it is not the same timeline, events would be different. In JL 3 this Snyderverse Batman we have been following would save Superman, fight Darkseid etc. Perhaps "JL3" would actually be "Man of Steel 2"

I think this is actually similar to my opinions. I mean, I usually totally disagree with Matt, but there’s a first time for everything. I really think they should’ve seen Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad first though. Especially because of that ending with Joker.
Man of Steel is underrated IMO. Snyder Cut and MoS are the best DCEU films. BvS is good (except for MARTHA!) WW was pretty good. I haven't seen WW84 or Aquaman
52:00 In terms of Flash reversing time or going into the future/past, that’s Flash for ya. Lol He’s done that in the animated stuff, comics, games, the CW Flash show, ect. He’s so fast that can he can do all that. But it does come with a cost, and he doesn’t always do it all the time either. I’m not sure if Flash reversing time a tiny bit here will change anything, but I think it was a nice moment for him to truly shine as The Flash since the theatrical cut treated him like a joke. But to each their own.
I haven’t seen the Snyder Cut myself yet but I couldn’t resist watching this when it came out. Just from what I saw in the video, it’s 100x better than the theatrical version and addresses most of the problems I had with it. Very excited to see it myself.

I've only pumped my fists in the air in two Comic book movie moments so far.... 1. All the Heroes charging forward in Avengers Endgame 2. The Flash going back in time to save the universe... This movie deserves so much credit than it received...
Steppenwolfs outfit/look in this movie is the same or very close to how steppenwolf looks in batman v superman ending. Its wierd how Weadon changed steppenwolf in Josstice League, even tho BvS just gave them his look.
Actually, that is the one thing we can't blame Whedon for (that and the runtime). WB execs forced Zack to change the design because it was "too scary" or something like that, but yeah I agree that it shouldn't have been changed

I'm kind of disappointed that you skipped your reaction to Flash's big moment. Its my favorite part of the movie, and I came to your reaction specifically to see your reaction to it
I love how this movie proves definitively that Zack had a plan for the DCEU. He had character arcs in mind. Man of Steel, BvS and JL were supposed to be a contiguous story, not meant to be taken in pieces. You watch the characters change and evolve through their journey. Clark learns his place in the world and how to become a symbol of hope and inspiration. Bruce learns how to let go of the hatred, cynicism and fear that he held on to for so many years and learned how to regain his sense of justice and honor. I know a lot of people maligned MoS and BvS but god damn, i can't help but love them even more in retrospect with ZSJL finally here.
See, I loved this movie so much, but that one moment annoyed me. I really think that could’ve been a great scene between Martha and Lois, but that kinda undermined it and I didn’t understand why it was there. They could’ve just had the little ending with Martian Manhunter.

While I understand the compliant that Martian manhunter was Included for fan service. I really appreciate that he is in this movie. Since I remember seeing concept art of him being the general from MOS (this means that Snyder wanted to include his character from the beginning of the DCEU I wonder what forced him to get rid of that)

But something that I dislike about the Snyder Cut is that WB made Snyder change Green Lantern to Martian Manhunter for the ending scene. We were originally going to get our introduction to Green Lantern there. (Hence why we see Lanterns in this film and not have them referenced or shown in any of the other DCEU movies)
Absolutely loved this film! Zack really delivered big time - yes Virginia, the Snyder Cut was real - and yes, it’s glorious!! The film is so cinematic - Zack’s stunning visuals with this music - not just Junkie XL but Zack’s song choices - I just loved the Barry and Iris scene and that version of ‘Song To The Siren’ - just beautiful!!! This film is a Work Of Art - I just loved it!!!!

I too loved the Snyder Cut. But we shouldn't be suprised because Warner Bros has said its a one and done from the moment the Snyder Cut was approved to be finished. $300 million budget for a film is not feasible whatsoever in a time like this and most definitely not possible to make the box office return on HBO Max. To finish the Snyder Cut really was $70 million because next to everything was shot already.
I thought the Zack Snyder cut was a far superior movie compared to the theatrical version. And they needed it to be 4 hours so they could expand upon Cyborg, Aquaman, and Flash's characterizations which the DCEU blew by trying to catch up with the MCU in terms of the ensemble superhero movie.
I’m actually scratching my head at the fact that so many people are complaining that it’s a long movie if tho they didn’t think it wouldve been ñ. I’m trying to figure how they didn’t expect that. We’ve been hearing people say how this movie was gonna have backstories and other characters and new scenes and a whole added ending on top of what was already there. The first thing that came to my mind when I heard about what this movie was gonna have weeks ago, was that this is gonna be a long ass movie. I get that they don’t like it but everyone i see is acting really surprised that the movie is this long.
Well, MCU needed all those standalone movies to make Avengers.. while Snyderverse only need MoS, BvS, and ZSJL, it works.. people even love ZSJL way better than MCU ever did tbh.
It was crazy how many good scenes were taken out of the movie. One in particular was the Cyborg scene with the single mother who gets invicted. The actress who played that mother tweeted on Twitter asking if her part was in Zacks cut because it was cut out of the Weedon version. There was just so much depth for the characters.

I feel that its always people who don't read comics that have an issue with the seriousness of the DC movies vs the MCU. Growing up reading comics we had Elseworlds where DC characters were all kinds of dark. Batman Red Rain, Superman Red Son, Rock of Ages and even now with Injustice. By comparison people who only know Superman from the Donner movie are always like "but he's supposed to be hopeful". Well, that interpretation is but others don't have to be anything but what they want to be. I have no problem with them going dark as long as it ends up being a good story.
I think dark is relative. MCU is just as dark in certain themes it just doesn't look as dark and characters actually have fun personalities... Which is amazing because Flash and Cyborg stole the show here. I like only like half of the JL team. Good movie, good action and costumes and story is cool.
It was my introduction to The DCEU And I’ve GOT to say I was impressed, Im now on Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice And both of those are without a doubt, better then Endgame

It may or may not be the best comic book superhero team-up movie of all time, but it's certainly the boldest, most auteurist film the genre has ever produced. It breaks most of the established rules that mega blockbusters are supposed to play by for universal acclaim and success. Yet despite this, it still engenders the same grandiose, rewarding payoff that sends audiences home uplifted and inspired.
Seriously been waiting on this reaction since the film came out. What a masterpiece this film is. Please don't kill me for liking the film. (Talking to the fans of DC and Marvel)✌ And p.s. there is no comparison between Josstice leauge and ZS justice league. And pretty sure that was desthstroke not deadpool fyi...
Yeah as a HUGE marvel fan, having seen every single movie in theaters since I was 7, the Snyder Cut is one of my favorite comic book movies of all time. I absolutely loved every second of it and am so glad Snyder got to finish his vision after Whedons 2017 shit show haha. I was still of fan of Snyder’s work before, Man of Steel is amazing and although I like BvS I know it does have some problems, but this movie man, so gooood!
No matter which version you prefer, I don't see how anyone can look at that finale, featuring The Flash, and say we can cut that..... Who thought THAT was a good idea?
I am one of these people and i will tell you why it should be cut. Because it is just spectacle and entirely void of meaning. I would prefer most action / spectacle scenes to carry some weight behind them. Using your special ability to "rewind time", that you established earlier should be used with caution due to potential after effects and fuck ups, is actually entirely free of this setback when the situation involves ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION. On top of that, it renders any and all stakes meaningless because the Flash can rewind time at will, essentially, however many times he wants. The ability is not dependent on a gadget or a condition outside his own control, it's always accessible to him, in contrast to, let's say,every other movie where time travel requires all sorts of things to be achieved. Things went wrong? Boom, time travel, everything is fixed now. Things went to shit again? No worries, let's try again. I hope that answers your question. If you are fine with pure spectacle, good on you. But it could have been so much more than JUST that. And that applies to the entire movie by the way.

@@riteousrighthand6144 Yes that's what i am referring to. And i am cool with them being seen in the solo film, but we can't say "he caused this" because there was no alternative. For an example of what i am trying to say let's take Endgame. Ironman didn't have to use the gauntlet at the end to finish the fight, he had his life to think of and all was not lost (YET). But he takes the risk to himself and pulls the trigger, thus paying the price. Now let's take the same scenario, but Ironman takes all the stones, however, everyone else is already dead. Every goofball has been killed and Tony is the last one standing. There are no stakes in this situation, everyone is already gone, there are no other options left to account for. The impact of the scene is now, not the same, and a lot less powerful. In Snyder's version, the situation could have been improved by, for example, having the team save the day without fucking up at first, and as things are clearing up, we see the family (that's in the Whedon cut) and as they exit their house, the roof collapses on them. And as Flash tries to rescue them, he understands that at this point in time, saving them is impossible (the rocks have already made contact with their bodies or something) but in order for this bright day to not get stained by this clearly avoidable accident, he pushes time back and saves them. And then, you have the aftermath to deal with in the solo movie, which were caused by his feelings of guilt for not being vigilant or fast enough to rescue the family without breaking the time barrier.
When I saw the flash reverse time scene, I was dying to see Matt’s reaction. I’ve been waiting for this video ever since I watched the movie and I’m so happy to see you guys enjoyed it! Very pleasantly surprised that Matt enjoyed it so much! Felt worried about the runtime being a downer but it really made for an absolute superhero epic
@@darthinfinte7047 i liked Stephenwolf for the most part actually. And the movie was gorgeous. It just was a bit bland emotionally speaking. Im going against the grain here but i couldn't care less about cyborg and his dad. I actually liked flash and his dad near the end alot though. Hated the slo mo overkill, i get its snyder though. I forgave 300 lol But idk. I just didnt ever feel worried for a character in a scene. Didnt really feel emotionally invested. But again my god this movie is gorgeous. Solid 5 for the most part. But i fell asleep during the last battle and had to rewatch part 6. Leto was bad as ever, as was the writing. Still would like to see an eventual movie set in that world. Lastly not to marvel fanboy, the two eps of falcon and winter soldier have been so much better. Made me care more for the new replacement captain america more than batman from snyderverse in one ep.
Stuff like this is why ZSJL fans get a bad name. Dude is allowed to have an opinion, just like you are allowed to have one too. People are allowed to think how they want to...

Obviously this has more character building because it is 4hrs long. The theme of this was what it should be, the different characters becoming a team and coming together. And the theatrical was more like Marvel style and also was Batman trying to get Wonder Woman to realize her full potential and to become the future leader. My rating would be Zack's is a 9.5 and I'll change Joss's from a 4 to a 6.

But as time went on and I got older and more interested in appreciating his interpretation and artistic style I began to love his SnyderVerse. This movie really put an anchor of emotions on me in a positive way. If HBO Max were to allow Zack to pick this up again I'd be happy.

I straight up LOVED this movie. The 4 hours flew by in my opinion. Every single aspect of it felt improved from the previous version. I would give the theatrical cut a 5/10 and i'd honestly give this one a 9.5/10

But Deadpool as a character is so much more interesting and unique. He is an intentional parody which is smart of them.
More or less the Joker scene at the end was Zach Snyder admitting that he may never do a DC movie again and wanted a Batman Joker scene together. So he added it in for fan service and for himself wanting to direct that iconic scene of a Batman interacting with a Joker.
Suicide Squad came insanely close, literally the only thing separating Batman from Joker at one point was a car roof, but I'm so thankful this Cut went there.

Man of Steel is underrated IMO. Snyder Cut and MoS are the best DCEU films. BvS is good (except for MARTHA!) WW was pretty good. I haven't seen WW84 or Aquaman

52:00 In terms of Flash reversing time or going into the future/past, that’s Flash for ya. Lol He’s done that in the animated stuff, comics, games, the CW Flash show, ect. He’s so fast that can he can do all that. But it does come with a cost, and he doesn’t always do it all the time either. I’m not sure if Flash reversing time a tiny bit here will change anything, but I think it was a nice moment for him to truly shine as The Flash since the theatrical cut treated him like a joke. But to each their own.
well him reversing time does create an alternate timeline where he essentially doesn’t time it correctly.
I haven’t seen the Snyder Cut myself yet but I couldn’t resist watching this when it came out. Just from what I saw in the video, it’s 100x better than the theatrical version and addresses most of the problems I had with it. Very excited to see it myself.

He had character arcs in mind.
Man of Steel, BvS and JL were supposed to be a contiguous story, not meant to be taken in pieces. You watch the characters change and evolve through their journey.
Clark learns his place in the world and how to become a symbol of hope and inspiration.
Bruce learns how to let go of the hatred, cynicism and fear that he held on to for so many years and learned how to regain his sense of justice and honor.
I know a lot of people maligned MoS and BvS but god damn, i can't help but love them even more in retrospect with ZSJL finally here.

But something that I dislike about the Snyder Cut is that WB made Snyder change Green Lantern to Martian Manhunter for the ending scene. We were originally going to get our introduction to Green Lantern there. (Hence why we see Lanterns in this film and not have them referenced or shown in any of the other DCEU movies)

But we shouldn't be suprised because Warner Bros has said its a one and done from the moment the Snyder Cut was approved to be finished. $300 million budget for a film is not feasible whatsoever in a time like this and most definitely not possible to make the box office return on HBO Max. I thought the Zack Snyder cut was a far superior movie compared to the theatrical version. And they needed it to be 4 hours so they could expand upon Cyborg, Aquaman, and Flash's characterizations which the DCEU blew by trying to catch up with the MCU in terms of the ensemble superhero movie.

I’m actually scratching my head at the fact that so many people are complaining that it’s a long movie if tho they didn’t think it wouldve been ñ. I’m trying to figure how they didn’t expect that. We’ve been hearing people say how this movie was gonna have backstories and other characters and new scenes and a whole added ending on top of what was already there. The first thing that came to my mind when I heard about what this movie was gonna have weeks ago, was that this is gonna be a long ass movie. I get that they don’t like it but everyone i see is acting really surprised that the movie is this long.
Well, MCU needed all those standalone movies to make Avengers.. while Snyderverse only need MoS, BvS, and ZSJL, it works.. people even love ZSJL way better than MCU ever did tbh.
It was crazy how many good scenes were taken out of the movie. One in particular was the Cyborg scene with the single mother who gets invicted. The actress who played that mother tweeted on Twitter asking if her part was in Zacks cut because it was cut out of the Weedon version. There was just so much depth for the characters.

I feel that its always people who don't read comics that have an issue with the seriousness of the DC movies vs the MCU. Growing up reading comics we had Elseworlds where DC characters were all kinds of dark. Batman Red Rain, Superman Red Son, Rock of Ages and even now with Injustice. By comparison people who only know Superman from the Donner movie are always like "but he's supposed to be hopeful". Well, that interpretation is but others don't have to be anything but what they want to be. I have no problem with them going dark as long as it ends up being a good story.
I think dark is relative. MCU is just as dark in certain themes it just doesn't look as dark and characters actually have fun personalities...
Which is amazing because Flash and Cyborg stole the show here. I like only like half of the JL team. Good movie, good action and costumes and story is cool.

It may or may not be the best comic book superhero team-up movie of all time, but it's certainly the boldest, most auteurist film the genre has ever produced. It breaks most of the established rules that mega blockbusters are supposed to play by for universal acclaim and success. Yet despite this, it still engenders the same grandiose, rewarding payoff that sends audiences home uplifted and inspired.
Definitely the best team up film. Easily.

Yeah as a HUGE marvel fan, having seen every single movie in theaters since I was 7, the Snyder Cut is one of my favorite comic book movies of all time. I am one of these people and i will tell you why it should be cut. Because it is just spectacle and entirely void of meaning. I would prefer most action / spectacle scenes to carry some weight behind them. Using your special ability to "rewind time", that you established earlier should be used with caution due to potential after effects and fuck ups, is actually entirely free of this setback when the situation involves ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION. On top of that, it renders any and all stakes meaningless because the Flash can rewind time at will, essentially, however many times he wants. The ability is not dependent on a gadget or a condition outside his own control, it's always accessible to him, in contrast to, let's say,every other movie where time travel requires all sorts of things to be achieved. Things went wrong? Boom, time travel, everything is fixed now. Things went to shit again? No worries, let's try again.
I hope that answers your question. If you are fine with pure spectacle, good on you. But it could have been so much more than JUST that. And that applies to the entire movie by the way.

But what you said was my entire point, as it is the only option, there are no god damn implications.

@@riteousrighthand6144 Yes that's what i am referring to. And i am cool with them being seen in the solo film, but we can't say "he caused this" because there was no alternative.
For an example of what i am trying to say let's take Endgame. Ironman didn't have to use the gauntlet at the end to finish the fight, he had his life to think of and all was not lost (YET). But he takes the risk to himself and pulls the trigger, thus paying the price. Now let's take the same scenario, but Ironman takes all the stones, however, everyone else is already dead. Every goofball has been killed and Tony is the last one standing. There are no stakes in this situation, everyone is already gone, there are no other options left to account for. The impact of the scene is now, not the same, and a lot less powerful.
In Snyder's version, the situation could have been improved by, for example, having the team save the day without fucking up at first, and as things are clearing up, we see the family (that's in the Whedon cut) and as they exit their house, the roof collapses on them. And as Flash tries to rescue them, he understands that at this point in time, saving them is impossible (the rocks have already made contact with their bodies or something) but in order for this bright day to not get stained by this clearly avoidable accident, he pushes time back and saves them. And then, you have the aftermath to deal with in the solo movie, which were caused by his feelings of guilt for not being vigilant or fast enough to rescue the family without breaking the time barrier.
The new Steppenwolf's face reminds me of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon...

When I saw the flash reverse time scene, I was dying to see Matt’s reaction. I’ve been waiting for this video ever since I watched the movie and I’m so happy to see you guys enjoyed it! Very pleasantly surprised that Matt enjoyed it so much! Felt worried about the runtime being a downer but it really made for an absolute superhero epic

@@darthinfinte7047 i liked Stephenwolf for the most part actually. And the movie was gorgeous. It just was a bit bland emotionally speaking. Im going against the grain here but i couldn't care less about cyborg and his dad.
I actually liked flash and his dad near the end alot though.
Hated the slo mo overkill, i get its snyder though. I forgave 300 lol
But idk. I just didnt ever feel worried for a character in a scene. Didnt really feel emotionally invested.
But again my god this movie is gorgeous.
Solid 5 for the most part.
But i fell asleep during the last battle and had to rewatch part 6.
Leto was bad as ever, as was the writing.
Still would like to see an eventual movie set in that world.
Lastly not to marvel fanboy, the two eps of falcon and winter soldier have been so much better. Made me care more for the new replacement captain america more than batman from snyderverse in one ep.
