      @@ghstly2000 The Don Cossacks and other cossacks in Moscovia were not the kind of "free" cossacks that were on Ukraine's territory. The cossacks of Moscovia served the Tsar. The term cossack was a name given to a fighting man and the word was derived from the Turkish word for "free man" Later Russia adopted the term for some of its regiments.     Hello, I am a Cossack myself from the Semerichiye host in Kazakhstan. There are some few mistakes you made in the video and maybe suggestions for the future I would like to clear;
    1. The word Cossack = Kazak, Kozak of Kozac means free man in Slavic and Turkic languages. The word you used “Kazakh” is an ethnic group of people in Kazakhstan which shouldn’t be confused with Kazak.
    2. You forgot to mention yermak, the first Siberian Cossack who conquered Siberia.
    3. Also you forgot to mention many other hosts who played huge roles such as Kuban host, Terek or tersk host, Ural host, transbaikal host, Siberian host, Astrakhan host, Orenburg host, Ussuri host, Semerichiye host and a few more.
    4. The haircut you referred to is called a “hohol” a national haircut for Ukrainian Cossacks aka zaporozhian Cossacks. The rest of the hosts did not use this haircut but did grow out their beards.
    5. In the civil war, Cossacks fought on both red and white side.
    6. You forgot to mention that zaporozhian Cossack were deported to the Black Sea and that’s how the Kuban host formed once they were transferred to the Caucasus.
    7. It would’ve been very appreciated to discuss about our traditional clothing such as the cherkeska (also known as the chokha) (this applies to some hosts, not all) and our hats, papakhas, Kubankas and furazhkas (some of these caps were worn specifically by some hosts)
    8. You should definitely talk about the Cossack dialects also known as Balachka (for Ukrainians) and don gytor (Russian one)
    Thank you for reading this. I still enjoyed your video, but i just needed to clear some of your mistakes and things that were very important to say, but were missing.

    I see many Ukrainians offended by the statement that cossacks were not all part of the ukrainian ethnicity. May I ask what ethnicities were the cossacks of the Don or the ones in the Caucasus? Though I admit that the only centralized state ever built by cossacks was in today's Ukraine and by Ukrainians (when the Tsar's envoys came to the hetman's court they needed translators). Even so, this doesn't mean that cossacks were only Ukrainians. I am not saying this is not an important page of the ukrainian history but to say that the cossacks were a specific ethnic group is just narcissistic.

      Both of these words share the same origin, it comes from the Proto-Turkic word Qaz(Khaz) and it means “to live free” and “to wander”.
      The “stan” part comes from the Persian language and means “land” or “country”, that’s why many countries today that historically have had relationship with Persian people bear the suffix “stan”, (Afghanistan, Qazaqstan, Turkmenistan, etc.)
      Overall, the word “Qazaqstan” means “the land of the free”/“the land of the wanderers”.
      As for the Cossacks, since many of them were of Turkic descent, they are called by the name “Qazaq”, which fits their way of life perfectly.

It is strongly recommended for narrators to dive much deeper into the material part, and, for instance, not to mess Moskovites and true Ukrainian Zaporizian and Hetmanate cossacks. By the way, Ivan the Mad was not an "emperor" - he was just a self-proclaimed "tzar" of the Moscovitian barbaric state.
