I have watched Tom Pembertons video about the environment agency in his area and the Ginger Warrior had a very strong view on how useless they. You have worked so hard for the welfare of your cattle and well done from me and you are a real credit to the farming industry 👍
Don’t back track joe they should be there to help. you could have lost those cattle luckily you didnt they are an environment agency they should have been there within hours and not saying No when you ask for help.
You should of just cut the the lock of the gate, because you were saving the cattle. It's the sort of situation in which, you would be reported for not looking after your animals. You are doing a great job Joe.

Got on the London train at NEC and had to walk from one end to the other to get seats. The looks on the other passengers seeing the rabbits was priceless. Hi Joe, Section 9 of the Animal welfare act states you have a duty of care for your animals, domestic or farm, next time try and get the RSPCA to act on your behalf or be present when you force entry to protect or rescue your animals from harm. The environment agency are up the creak for not engaging with your request..

I feel your pain with the EA. They installed some river monitoring equipment on our land and when they removed it they left the concrete footings with 2 inch studs sticking up on ground that cattle graze. Fuming!

My late grandfather had the same problem,when he had cattle and sheep on the marsh,near kings Lynn that was over 60 years ago.He used to carry a hacksaw with him to cut the bloody chains on the gates.He had no time for them people either,he had a horse and cart no tractor.

I don’t know about how it works in the Uk but in Ireland if a barrier needs opening for animal welfare or for firefighters to get access just call the fire brigade they are the highest authority

Our neughbour s farm. Cut lock of gate put new lock on which was a better 1 gave them new key and told them take me to court nothing happened but he fold them never to walk on his ground without his permission

We have had the same with th EA A Poultry unit flooded my field In August which was grazed with some sheep which wasn't mine 10 died had vets reports ect died of botulism EA won't do a thing and field still floods

Even for the EA I find that very strange. Personally I would have cut the lock and filmed what you are doing. If they made a fuss get the TV media involved. Couple of years back we needed an ambulance down the river bank for a horse rider, I cut the lock and told the guy next time he was round there wasn’t a problem. You can understand that they can’t just let all that water straight back into the river that may still be near capacity
I would of cut the lock off, got them out and lock the gate back up with the same make of lock. So when they come to open it they'll be like oh, the lock jammed and cut it off and they put a new one on

Open the gate with a magic key remove the cattle and deny it was you. It was open when you got there or cattle were in danger. What they going to say as they have to prove otherwise.
