Only Tom Petty can play a guitar, sing and smoke at the same time and it just looks and sounds so freakin' awesome!!!!
I feel ya. I'd like to take a screen shot, close-up, and wallpaper it (on 1 wall) in my studio.
Cool and a great songwriter
Very few people loved the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield more than the late Tom Petty. Period.
RIP David Crosby and Tom Petty. Legends Forever.
What about Bruce Palmer R.i.P⚰
Stephen Stills is one of the greatest ever.
what a truthful song and very cool to hear tom with cross and stills!! Miss you so much tom! rest in peace petty and crosby! Peace Love
Tom Petty just has to smoke during this. He does it without missing a note.
THIS pretty much was the "Anthem" for the Young Crowd "Back When".. Lived in Chicago at the time & still remember Chitown Copz busting chops on the Folks during 68 Demon Convention.. THIS version obviously performed during "Happier Time" BUT NOW in 2021 it RINGS more TRUE than it did in it's heyday
Kudos to Michael Finnegan on keyboards, Joe Vitale on drums and isn't that George "Chocolate" Perry on the bass..
Gerald Johnson on bass (Steve Miller Band, Dave Mason)
Really enjoyed that soooo much, thank you guys!
A very political song and very much appreciated I remember I was 10 years old when this came out I'm still kicking good a country boy can survive 💯💞💯💯🤣🤣🤣🤣😎😎
Tom's killing the lead fills on this.
Love this version. RIP David Crosby and Tom Petty, I was lucky enough to see Tom in 1990, absolutely amazing concert, Tom was full of energy
Graham Nash is having the time of his life
Oh. So well done, gents. Sincerely.
Was a blueprint for political action, counter-culture, that mobilized and eventually stopped a war!
@@petersonlafollette3521 Did you take the brown acid?
@@thestretch60 Woodstock stage announcement said do not take the brown acid?
Good Lord!!.. Tom Petty solos & fills!!..
Unexpected NUGGETS!.. Tnx Neil for NOT attending...🤣😝❗
It's so sad when our Rock legends pass on. As of this writing, Petty and Crosby are no longer with us. Two of the most influential artists of that generation. ❤❤❤
Bruce palmer seem to be a little out of it. Tripping on something.
Where's Richie?
With patients once and a while a good Riff comes out of nowhere, jam it!!!
*patience
Why didn't Richie Furay play? He was in attendance, gave a speech and looked in good heath.
What a Groove!
Love hearing Tommy play some lead!
Was the fat tunic guy their drug connection, back in the day or what?
Sweet❤
No Jim Messina?
Why would he play on this? He wasn't in the band when this song was recorded.
Stop,Hey, what's that sound? Somebody please make Bruce sit down.
Great version. The guitars are better with Petty.
Still prefer the vocals on the original. Stills seems to be singing it
in a higher harmony here compared to the original.🤔
Tom was so cool. Great singer and musician. Love him. 🔥💔
I TOTALLY DIG HIS - abig plus is Tm petty
Stills stands above the rest here. Crosby says Stills is the best singer and guitarist and you can see why here.
Still rings true today!
YOU HAVE TO SING IT LIKE BACK IN THE PROTEST/ HIPPIE DAYS. THIS ONE IS TOO COMMERCIAL.
SO FREAKIN' COOL!!!!!!
Two questions, who is the stoned dude, and who is the bass player, he rocks.
Bruce Palmer the stoned dude
George "Chocolate" Perry on bass.
That dude is the original bassist for Buffalo Springfield, Bruce Palmer. The bassist with the left-handed Fender is Gerald Johnson (Steve Miller Band, Dave Mason).
@@jackmalvern5704 Gerald Johnson actually

La più bella versione val
Band inducted based on one song . . . .
Not really. "Maybe For What it's Worth" is the closest thing to a hit that the Springfield had, but part of the criteria for induction is the influence and significance of the artists' contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll. You can't deny the Springfield's significance. The list of those they influenced is endless and still ongoing. Truly deserved.
Sounds like you only know one yourself.
@@mysticgeneie4668 My collection includes all three of their studio albums. They water down the hall of fame. Awful? No. Otherwise I wouldn't own all three. Hall of Fame? Hell no.
@@TonysMusic1974 You make HoF sound more important than it is.
@@mysticgeneie4668 If you don't think it's that important, why are you defending their inclusion?
this version sucks
Why is that, Skippy?
@@GoshGus Neil should've been there to add the harmonic guitar. It definitely needs that.
Not diggin this ..
