@@MrMudsHamRadioTime I have an upcoming video that I'm about to edit in which we did a POTA in an area with no cell service. Next time we go there, which will be relatively soon, we have a way to spot.
I was going to activate Lake Ray Roberts just on a grassy area away from the flooded campgrounds, because I was in the area, but the front gate was closed😢
Don’t quote me but most park gates are well within the park boundaries. Kinda a gray area if you can activate if it’s closed though. My opinion is being there is the basic requirement.
I do a minimum of two tones. Also make sure your volume is up and the mic is close enough to push your ALC a bit. Try that and message back if that doesn’t work.
Great app Wes. Many thanks.
You’re welcome. Let us know how it works for you!
I have the app but never ended up using it . I really need to check it out more!
The updated version rocks. I can’t believe it’s Free! Well for now.
How did I miss this app? I've definitely needed it before and will again in the future!
It’s great. I totally under utilized it and just got back to using it. It’s actually faster than the POTA app sometimes 😀.

Thanks for making the video!

How long did you hold down the ptt on your mic? I have tried the app and held the ptt for one tone of FT8 and it didn’t seem to work.
