  • Today, I would just like to talk about how I made the America Sings series of animations, based on the America Sings audio animatronic show from Disneyland, opened between 1974 and 1988. The characters would sing multiple songs from various time periods, from the Early South up to the 70s, a show which lasted 21 minutes. The old Animatronic were moved to Splash Mountain after the closure of America Sings.
To celebrate the 4th of July, I animated all four sections of the attraction, "Deep South", "Old West", "Gay Nineties" & "Modern Times" in Source Filmmaker. After 5 years, this gargantuan project is finally complete!!

Forgot to mention it but the last chapter, Modern Times, was the only chapter which used no pure human models at all!

Saw this pop up in my recommended before the actual animation did, and whilst I haven't been following the project from the start, just watching this video and listening to the "developer commentary" if you will really showed me that this is a passion project that you've used as a learning experience, and seeing the evolution of the quality of your animation means that the learning experience paid off. Splendid video as always. :)
