Rotten. Cyril Ritchard was the definitive Captain Hook waaaaaaaaaaay back in 1960. Look for his fabulously corny "Captain Hook's Waltz" on TH-cam.

He’s one of the best musical comedy actors working today, and not only has he previously played the role of Captain Hook, he won a Tony for it
And he has to play second fiddle to Walken, when he easily could’ve pulled off this version of Hook

I for one enjoyed seeing walken get to strut one last time, he's an old boy now and being lazy to the point of making other people tap dance for him while he just lifts his foot is the kind of vanity hook would do
Pretty sure Christian Borle was there to keep the curtain up! He could step-in at the last minute at any point in this live broadcast. The producers invested in a little insurance policy. Deep respect and admiration for Borle!
Man, if only there was some accomplished triple threat with experience playing hook in the cast they could have called upon.....

I suppose they wanted a star turn for the role - Christian Borle is a musical star rather than a stunt cast. Walken can certainly dance though.

2:40- he whiffs a high note belt so it's barely audible
2:50- he noticeably forgets his next line
3:50- it takes a minute for his mouth to figure out what he's supposed to be lip-synching
6:50- this man is half asleep
8:10- unironically i love this little dance
8:45- most lackluster villainous breakdown i've ever seen
That you can't tell how much is deliberate and how much him phoning it in makes it more fun.
The Pirate crew had the Hardest job. You can see the fear in their eyes when He goes “he found a mother…..hoo.”

Defiantly the worst! That wasn't easy on the eyes or ears..
He's an aquired taste at his worst but honestly it's a performance i come back to that it's so bad I have enjoyment out of it especially in the bit where he forgets his line.

All problems aside, making Hook walk around at swordpoint and bid a tearful farewell to his crew is pretty cold blooded.

I was in my high school play when we did Peter Pan and this was on in third grade it was so a fun time being a lost boy
We never got to see this version of Peter Pan. Christopher Walken played Captain Hook like he should have, he's very funny and droll in anything like this, and yet he can be serious and scary too.

sooo.. it's september, the shows stopped for "a summer break" (like, dude, you really need a "break" from taking a few minutes to post a youtube vid of a pre-recorded show..???) not that i'm not grateful to have been able to watch a few (when there weren't technical difficulties or liscensing issues or postponements (not to mention duplicates.. and not the ones i would've liked to see again..) but when you say "we'll be back in august!" and it is now september, and you're waiting anxiously and keep getting excited when you see a new post (only to be extremely disappointed, (again..) because it's just a repost of a snippet of a show that already aired.. why would it be so difficult to have left these shows all up so folks could enjoy them during the pandemic?? it's not like it's a new show - and all of them aired on television where, arguably anyone could have recorded and watched a billion times.. what is the fear, exactly? that your shows will become even more popular? that you'll leave a bunch of quarantine weary peops grateful to you for your kindness of collective spirit / community viewing? that you'll create access for folks who otherwise would NOT have had access, and because of that access got a glimpse into a world they'd like to explore / see more of, and are "saving their pennies" for some 'someday' when they might be able to get a reasonably priced ticket to a broadway show.. and support comes your way?.. sigh. : ( please stop being jerks and jerking us around! : ( if you say august, then you should've already been screening for weeks now! instead of contuing the crickets into september.. : ( what's the issue, exactly??? you either are or you're not, and if you're not - you should've never said you were, and if you are, well then do it already! smh! >: (
Has it not occurred to you that the difficulties may be outside their control? I suspect that copyright owners are not willing to continue with this project. Many such initiatives ended a few weeks ago. People need to move on.
Brian Austin sure it's occurred to me - blatantly. however the fact remains they should not just keep posting these weird cryptic posts (the latest one posted today, for example: "so long, farewell" (the clip from sound of music) after telling their subscribers they'll "be back in august". it's september now, and there are a lot of folks going through a really hard time (i include myself among those counted). is it too much to ask for some clarification / a simple update on this? because it may seem like such a small thing to some, but for those of us who don't have the luxury of subscriptions or tv anymore (since they've even managed to nickel and dime even that somehow..) this is everything!
i remember being excited FOR WEEKS as a kid when we knew they were going to show the wizard of oz on tv : ) and yes, we can try to buy a copy now, but there was something about the live viewing - i guess the sense of the camaraderie felt? and now more than ever, this is necessary - it can be (and again, i'll speak for myself) life saving. we're all in this together more than ever before. they should not just leave us to the wilds (it's a bit tacky, no? (and rude..)? inviting someone to be your guest, and then just letting them shuffle around at the "welcome" mat..)?? THAT'S my beef with the whole thing.. don't promise something, string people along for over a month and then (while you keep posting "teasers" and "announcements" on different platforms, essentially creating confusion and frustration / disappointment) come with some "so long! farewell!" clip - seriously? GTFOH with trying to justify that - smh!

I loved this musical. I thought Christopher Walkden was brilliant. I thought how he played it was intentional, I was engrossed.

He's always acting as if he doesn't care about what he's doing and is phoning in his performance instead - and he's singing in the same way. (You also notice that in his portrayal of King Louie in The Jungle Book even though he's just voice-acting.) I imagine what wonders Tim Curry might have done in this role and it breaks my heart to watch th and hear this.
I hard he was one of the front-runners to play Han Solo in Star Wars - thank God they found Harrison Ford instead.

this was kinda was not good. and I've loved walken since a "view to a kill" and I know he can dance since "weapon of choice". Wish I didn't see this.

As a kid I noticed something’s wrong like his face tells he doesn’t want to be in this show
He looks bored
NOT feeling it. I understand Christopher can sing and dance (classically trained I believe) but this role was not a good choice for him. He was better in "Weapon of Choice" video and Hairspray. IMHO.
Stage acting and film acting are very different. I don't blame Walken, he wasn't trained for this type of media
Plus, he has like 1 ft in the grave, looks like a step from having both

Honestly, Christopher Walken was miscasted here. I feel that Hugh Jackman should've been casted as Captain Hook in this production than the critical failure that was "Pan" (which came out a year later).

I guarantee you. Every pirate in this cast wants to to mutiny and take the leading role away from the weakest(outside of William's Peter Pan)Pirate casting... Hook himself, Walken. Worst Hook and Peter Pan's ever. High Schools do better productions.
