QOTD: I’ve always liked building out of stone and some wood with it but with my new genesis base I’ve been experimenting with stone and greenhouse and I absolutely love it. They match so well, it’s like they were made to be put in the same builds.
Hey Axe!! I don’t know if you’ll see this but I think you can use HLNA as a magnifying glass.
I play on ps4 and I press and hold the middle button for a second on a creature and it displays info about the creature (like it’s health and stamina and so on)

QOTD: I pretty much always build in wood to get a cottage look, but when I unlock tek stuff I really want to build a tek base, specifically in a place like sanctuary on extinction

You don't need magnifying glasses on the gen maps, you can just hold down h for a few seconds and HLNA shows you all their stats. It's good for checking torpor too.
hay Axe the pink glow around creatures and the reaper queen is a depuff applied to anything that attacks a shadowmane, its called like thronal poisoned or something, it will just do a bit of DOT nothing major though
The pink glow around a reaper queen means she is ready to impregnate.

I prefer to have my foundations stone, my walls wood and roof thatch, though sometimes I like to have my 1st or 2nd layer of my walls stone too.
However, in Aberration, for some reason a metal base fits the theme, especially if you are in the blue or red zone

I honestly don't think I've ever even placed a metal structure. Some of the structures look cool, but the walls and foundations look too flat
Im pretty sure reapers can grab people from most dinos, but you generally need to dismount and remount for them to actually do so, since they tend not to.
I'll have to keep that in mind next time I try taming a reaper, my last attempt was down by Rockwell's heart... let's just say things went south
@@thomasdevlin5825 Might have to bring a shield or something to help block its attacks too if you end up having to stay on foot rather than on a tame.
I like primitive with a slight tech touch and with glass now and then. So that is stone, wood, glass, teck and thatch for building materialis.
Stone base. Gotta love a stone base with all the comforts of home. Eighteen hours of playing I realized base had no bed. Glad I fixed that before I died!

@@onechunkyboi135 I made a bed, didn't place the bed. Made a quick little base and placed it on the island I was at. It's by a cave entrance so it probably won't go to waste!

that pink glow is from the shadowmane it passively deals damage to melee attackers and apply progressive damage over time, its called "Thornmail" debuff, its a poison that appears as a pink cloud around the attacker, it causes a reduction in enemy attack power and damage over time, the thornmail can stack about 5 times for maximum effect.
Axe, that shadowmane is yourssssss, seriously only YOU would leave a shadowmane in rockwells innards

The weird glow around dinos that bite Shadowmane is the poison effect they get at every bite. The lionfish is a poisonous fish, wildcard gave this to the Shadowmane :) yeah, for this reason it's a bit hard to spot the pink glow on the Reaper Queen hehehe
And no, if you die you don't lose the baby. Only travelling trough the arks or getting radiations kills it.
QoTd: i usually use a stone base and then wood mixed with stone. But on maps like Aberration/ext/genesis i preferred to build in Tek/Glass :)

axe, if you use a Whip on a Reaper Queen from the back of the Shadowmane she should grab you anyways. Because it moves her Agro from the Shadowmane to your Character.

Reaper queens have a few other color regions, but they arent shown on the queen itself. The color regions that are unused are brought over and shown on the reaper kings though.
Also breeding reaper (kings) is possibly only through using an s+ mutator or other mods that change a creature's gender.

QOTD: Primitive(stone, sometimes wood) is my preferred by far. Metal is both too costly and unnecessary for my bases. Tek is...something. I still use tek lights though(whenever I use creative to build a base), otherwise nornal standing and wall torches work too.
Not necessarily primitive, but I love using wind turbines for power(and the electrical lights). They dont work half the time(always at the worst time too), but atleast I dont have to search for oil.

Couple things axe you could of used hlna rather than getting a magnifying glass 😅. And they can pick you off a shadowmane you just have to use a sword or something that makes you go first person on the back of it and hit it then it will stop attacking your creature and Agro you.
QOTD: if i am building something on The Island, Ragnarok, The Centre etc. i like to use wood and stone. When i am building on Extinction or Gen1 i like to use tek and metal.

Honestly, I know the question was one or the other, but I like using both styles for building, specially what I use for the builds is based on what I’ll be using them for ie breeding: stone/greenhouse/wood, main base: stone, metal, greenhouse and some tek

If you want to go more frequently into the innerts you should go with a shadowmane with a lot of stamina and go invisible
The R-reapers I got never had colors like this XD I had a blue/orange fusion reaper, blue reaper, and a red reaper.
I like both tech stuff and primitive but if I had to choose I think primitive cuz it gives the cool survival vibes

They won't pick you off shadowmane because they do "poison" damage when hit which keeps the reapers aggro

QOTD: I just put everything on a thatch foundation or on the ground, but if I had to build something in either primitive or in tech style I would chose primitive.
