I baked this cake today for the first time. Followed all the instruction to the T, it came out brilliantly. Outsatnding flavors, no fuss no laborious work. for an easy method it turned out amazing. Everyone loved this cake. Thank you for sharing you recipe and such clear instructions. This is going to be my go to Christmas cake going forward. Super Love it ... Thank you Mystery Baker
This is the recipe I need right now. I've been making the wartime xmas cake because it also makes a small cake but I want something richer. Thanks for uploading this. Happy Yuletide.
@@MysteryBaker it turned out beautifully. I heaped the spices because I love spice, added a half cup of walnuts and only baked it for three hours. The top is crispy but the next ones will be wrapped in brandy soaked muslin and topped with marzipan. Thank you for this. I truly appreciate it.
That is fabulous so simple. Thank you for a perfect Christmas cake. The process was wonderfully simple. A big thank you. Will definitely try it. Now off to get some black treacle and golden syrup. 🎄
Hi, Fortunately recently your channel popped out on TH-cam. The problem is that, sometimes it’s difficult to get Muscovado Sugar. So possibility to use some other sugar instead of Muscovado. Also instead of 6 inch cake tin I can use 8 inch? Please I’ll be very grateful if you could advise me at your earliest convenience. I heartily thank you for sharing your good recipes and your precious time. Bye for now 🎉❤ -Sophia from Canada!
@safiaahmed3111 I do have a Christmas cake recipe on my channel for both 6inch and 8 inch Christmas cake. Use the 8 inch cake recipe for your cake tin. You cand substitute Muscovado with a dark brown sugar. Hope that helps xxx Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 xx
Hı, I’m very impressed by your prompt reply, thank you very much! Yes, I have gone through your both 8/10 inches cake recipes, and I have decided to go for 10 inches cake. I have already made one from my old recipe, but I wanted to try with your recipe for the New Year! Wishing you a very happy Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year. Bye ❤Sophia 🎉
I'd love to have seen you remove it from the tin though. I would normally put a double layer of brown paper around the outside of the tin as its thicker than greaseproof paper. Nice video and I'll be trying your recipe as I don't make large cakes much any more as we're empty nesters now.
It comes out so easily. After it's been left too cool, I simply run a palette knife around the edge of the cake and turn it out on a cooling rack. Please let me know how it turns out. Also check my video out on how to feed this cake with Brandy, which just adds that extra special 'something' 😋 Happy Baking 😊 🎂
@@MysteryBakerhi I've been making your christmas cake recipe for a few years now and everyone loves it , I would love to make your cake for my brother this year but he has to have a gluten free cake would you know how to do this using this recipe thanks very much ❤
Hi just finished making this cake as I have mislaid my M & S recipe book 😢 smells great looking forward to seeing how good it is as its similiar to the M & S recipe and I'm also making same cake for my daughters partners Mam and Dad xx ❤ Merry Xmas to you all !
@jijimathew2443 Not sure what you mean by rods but you might mean the level it needs to be in the oven. I'd recommend the lower level of the oven. Hope that helps? Xx
@thiruchelvieliathamby958 could be number of things... like, opening oven door too much, not eveningly coating fruit in cake mixture and/or using raising agent.

You say once a week you feed your cake how long do I have to do this for?
@@helenbroome317 Feed it every second day, not once a week.
Do we have to bake it with both rods ON or only the lower rod ON. Please guide and reply.

Looks amazing 🤩 will make it today. If I do it today how often should I feed it Ans when should I stop so it dries before icing it?
Very Lightly oil the spoon and the treacle or golden syrup will just fall off
Looks amazing! How deep should the tin be?
Thank you ❤ Use a 3 inch high cake tin xx
The cake looks really good the only problem I have is you didn't say anything about what temperature to cook it at
@@วิชิตยี่รงค์ The recipe and baking temperature is located in the description box xx
bake in oven for approx 3 to 3 and a half hours. 160c or 140c if fan assisted / 275F/ Gas Mark 1
Hi could you use a stand mixer? I haven't got a hand one x
Absolutely Debbie but when you add the fruit, fold the fruit into the mixture by hand xx
What can be done if treacle and golden syrup not available outside of the UK?
@@joebloggs7425 You can use Molasses xx
I sometimes use date syrup …which you could try and get fro health food store …
Fahrenheit degrees please
Can u translate ingredients into cups please
