I am building my second bus and found a better way to get the polls on without taking everything apart. Take the poles, make the hole on the bottom just a bit bigger with a round file. Then file off an extremely small amount on the bottom pegs attached to the seats, and again very little on the bottom of the poles. Glue the poles into the top and push down and make sure they are straight as the glue dries. Fit the entire, not disassmbled roof on the bus lining the tabs up on the sides but not pushing down. Then with tweezers push the poles over the tabs while very gently lifting the side where you are working just enough to get the pole over. Got this on in about half an hour, including glue drying time. I hate taking things apart.
Another great video Wayne .. to be fair it is actually Alex Demetriadis who suggested to Dave Say that best way to fit the upper deck roof was to do it in 3 parts … glad it worked for you as well. With just shy of 3,000 screws in this build .. the Routemaster Model is one of the best!
I’ve just got through this stage and had no problems fitting the roof on. I just used some forceps through the open windows to pop each pole into the roof sockets one by one. They all seemed to go in pretty easy. I reckon it only took me 20 minutes to get it on 👍
Great video! I’ll say if you shoot an hour of footage and it’ll probably be double for editing. I am surprised you haven’t done a blooper reel after each full build is finished.

It's a complete and utter credit to you. It's just about perfect. It only needs the engine to run. 😅😆🤣😂 how much does it weigh . I'm guessing at about 2lb. I just wish I had your skills and patience. Good luck with your future projects.

Hi Wayne, great build, up to pack ten here in New Zealand. What are your thoughts on the upstairs light cover next to the back seat. Looks like it will be left with just some black tape exposed?
What is the name of the black robot that is seen at 9:12 on the left side? And in wich film can you see it? I am searching it for my retro collection. Both the model and the film. But i can not remember :-(

I knew it was a difficult pack to do. those thin trim strips were quite fiddly to do but the bus is looking great

Probably a heck of a lot safer than the buses in the US.
