You’re welcome! I’ll be doing another one soon as well so be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. I got a roof top tent for it, so I’m going to outfit it to use that as well!
Love the video! I also have a renegade and you inspired me to buy the same roof rack! Do you have tips on how to best pack it to properly distribute weight?
Thank you! I would suggest making sure the rack is even over the cross bars. I put mine slightly more towards the front than back but how you load it is up to you. I’d aim for even distribution but security is more important than placement IMO. Test what works best for you!
My previous comment seems to have disappeared. Wrote to suggest you look for window rain guards. Being able to leave each window open an inch or two is a life saver on hot rainy days, They are super cheap and require no tools to install. They were on my black 2015 Renegade when I bought it used last year. Search online for Jeep Renegade window rain guards. Definitely going to order that awning. Is that the 6'6"X 8.2' model? Thanks for the video.
My Black 2017 Trailhawk is going to get both your simple sleep platforms! Did you or could you give dimensions for the plywood and 2x8 heights on the simple flat bed board please? Thanks for your excellent other content about the Jeep and kit lists etc best Kevin from England and Skiathos Greece ;0)
Thanks for watching and the feedback! Both set ups are fantastic depending on what trip I'm taking. I'll be doing another video soon too as I'm adding a roof top tent next week! The simple platform dimensions are: The plywood is some thin stuff I had laying around, any thickness will work. It's cut at 37.5 inches x 22 inches. The leg is made of 2 inch x 6 inch boards. The base that lays flat on the floor is 16 inches long. The upright that is screwed into the center of the base is 18 1/4 inches long. I drilled a hole through the plywood into the top of the upright so I can put a pin in there to help hold it. I have used it many times without the pin so that is optional. Hope that helps!
Thank you. I have been looking for a video like this for my Renie
