    Stitch Sisters!! I KNEW it was a trick to shirring on my Brother Innovis. I looked thru my manual & didn't find the key point of hooking & pulling the bobbin thread & not pulling the thread thru the bobbin thread cutter. Your instructions worked just as you instructed. Thanks girls 👍🏾

    Thank you! First tutorial I’ve seen with a top loader. Holding that bobbin down and giving the elastic a tug was the answer I’ve spent weeks looking for! So simple.

      IKR? The same for me as well, I’ve spent half the day trying different settings on my baby lock to no avail. I never could get my machine to pull the bobbin elastic up from the bottom, guess I’ll keep trying and try the way that she did in the video. 👍🏼🤦‍♀️

    Thank you for this video! All of the other tutorials I'd see completely skipped over how to put the bobbin in with a drop-in bobbin and your explanation of how to make sure it feeds through was the thing that fixed all of the issues I was having.

    I just received two giant spools of elastic thread for an early bday gift!!! I'm so excited!!!

    • @LisaLisa001
      @LisaLisa001 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Beautiful World thank you so much! I was blessed with my first grandbaby the day after my bday! And the best blessing was finishing the shirring on a dress I made myself. Oh man that is a learning process for real. Took so much patience!

    • @LisaLisa001
      @LisaLisa001 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Beautiful World I ordered them off of Amazon, it wasn't too pricey and came pretty fast, I'm in AZ and elastic is extinct right now for sure.

    • @LisaLisa001
      @LisaLisa001 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Beautiful World if it is a brother sewing machine, take the bobbin casing out and loosen the green screw, or it will take you a month to finish the dress! I had to get up and walk away. And be very consistent with the bobbin winding. Don't let there be tighter spots. And absolutely don't forget to leave a long tail when you snip the elastic. Good luck!!! I think mine was so difficult because I was shirring with 2 layers of fabric, a light turquoise soft jersey knit with a blue thick cotton lace over the top. I always pick the most difficult fabrics and I recommend just one at a time for this. It was all worth it in the end! It is so comfy and so beautiful, I impressed myself

    • @LisaLisa001
      @LisaLisa001 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Beautiful World my mom told me she was bored AND bought a brand new machine. I took her some projects. She brought them all back and gave me the machine. That was several months ago. I circled it for at least a month before I say down at it and started creating. I'll start out to do something and completely change the pattern, design, even purpose. I am trying to lower my ripped-out:kept stitch ratio. Lol

    Thanks for the info. My handy tip for hand loading a bobbin easier, put a pencil or stick (I use my seam ripper, perfect size) into the centre hole and you might find it easier to hand-load the bobbing. Doing it the way in the video I kept dropping it due to arthritis. Best tip though in these days is to keep safe keep strong keep well. XX

    • @c.r.mcleod8959
      @c.r.mcleod8959 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@crochetlover1880 When you use your machine to load the bobbin with thread or elastic, the machine will usually stretch the thread or elastic onto the bobbin so when you go to use the elastic for shirring etc, there won't be much stretch in the elastic when you go to sew with it. I hope that makes sense :) x
