Janets fashion was at an all time peak during The Velvet Rope project . The red hair, the tree branch braids, the African tribal influence mixed with the S&M moments….ugh! It’s because of HER that I always try to incorporate fashion items that stand out but also remain earthy and give the gworls something unique and Afro-eccentric, …a twisted elegance if you will. The Velvet Rope era was a MOMENT! and it’s honestly not talked about enough but it’s duplicated by other pop girls ALL TTHE TIME.
The baby pink dress with the black trim, the red dress with the cut outs and the black dress at the end are all beautiful. Christian Siriano is an intelligent, creative and gifted designer. And Janet Jackson is such a talented, creative, stylish and gorgeous woman. They are both icons.
