Okay Alex...you will need a noise maker to help you get through having no noise around...I love my noisemaker, noisemakers, a lifesaver for your sleeping...
So proud of you Alex! Moving into an apartment is definitely a big step into adulthood! My fiancé and I have lived on both the bottom and a top floor of an apartment complex and they both have pros and cons. Before you move into any apartment make sure you do a walk through and takes pictures of any little damage you see. Congrats!!
Don't rush into things with your relationship. Of course everything is always great in the first few months and then even when if she is to move in with you just don't rush into everything to fast. Your still young and you definitely should consider a long-term career (job) goal. I wish you the best of luck with everything and I absolutely enjoy watching your videos with your family. Your parents are absolute saints! 🧡
Alex , congratulations! Make sure smell is not cat smell, you can only get that by ripping out carpet , painting the sub floor and then new carpet. Lay down on it a smell it. Good luck! Nice to be close to home.
Congratulations, you’re going to do amazing! It’s so lovely to see how far you’ve come over the past couple of years. Your parents must be so proud! Good luck💙
Sprinkle baking soda allover the carpet, leave over night, vacuum the next day and the next, then steam clean. Febreeze as well. If it still smells, you may need the carpet replaced. As a mom, I didn't like the entrance under the stairs of the other apartment. Seemed easy place to get ambushed. Good Luck in your future endeavours.
Gosh I'm so proud of you Alex..although I don't know you personally but I feel like I do watching you grow up. You made me tear up now.. I hope you get it, you deserve it bud.
What ypu said at the start was so sweet. I just wanted to give you a hug. Your Mum looks happy and worried all at the same time. You can tell how much she loves you x
If you are renting, they will have to make all the repairs. As far as the carpet, you can always buy a large area rug. I know Costco has a lot of nice rugs.
So awesome Alex!!! I remember when I got my 1st apartment and I was young but I still work 2 jobs.. watching you grow in the past 18 months I started watching you have grown so much!!!!
I'm so behind on your videos, I'm sorry, but I saw you moving out on Crazy Pieces and had to catch up on your channel!! It's a huge step moving out on your own, but at least you're close to family if you ever need it!! Congrats!
That's such an amazing step Alex! You have come so far! Taking that next step in your amazing life journey. Can't wait to see what comes. Wishing you the best from San Antonio, TX. I can't wait to see your new place.
Good luck Alex! It a huge step with working and getting out on your own! I know i been on my own since 15 1/2. It a huge step we learn as we go, and trial and error.
Heck Alex, you're always going to need your parents, even in to old age ! That's what us parents live for,our kids needing us. It's like a badge of honor for us. You're going to be just fine. I wish you the very best !
Alex you should go backpacking in Europe if you don't want to take any classes now. You're young, you got the time, go for it. Go see the world, meet other people. You said you never really been alone. This is your chance to get out of your shell be independent but never forget your family. Don't get too serious with your girlfriend. I spent 17 days in Europe 2015 flew into London and took the train (Eurostar) to Paris, Cologne, Berlin and Amsterdam and flew back to London. I met a lot of international travelers at the hostel where I was staying at. There's so much to see especially via train. I'm hoping to go again this year or next year. Wish you the best of luck!
How exciting 👏 Thx for sharing this chapter in your life. Fantastic things about apartment living is upstairs a plus heat rises so you save not using your heater. No yard work Maintenance request leave return its fixed 😀
I'm so excited for this next chapter in your life... From one apartment renter to you, the top floor is better for 4 reasons 1.) Because heat rises 2.) you never have to worry about the sounds of people walking above you 3.) When you open your windows the breezes are amazing! 4.) You don't feel like your living in a cave. (yes I have lived on the bottom floor and I just perfer the top floor.) The only Con that I have is I'm old and I have to carry my groceries up a flight of stairs) I know you will do an amazing job as a young adult in his 1st (not forever) starter home. Okay couple of tips... #1~ Walk through before you move in and take a video of everything (the walls, carpet, inside the appliances...everything) and then keep that video. Reason why I say this, is for insurance down the road if you ever decide to move out, the property manager or owner can't say you caused damage that might already be there before you moved in (do it as a precaution~ yes I have learned this the hard way!) #2~To get rid of smells in apartments, go get you a scentsy wax warmer from Hobby Lobby or Walmart & I say a wax warmer because then you don't have to worry about remembering to blow out a candle before you leave or go to bed.~ Do this a couple of days BEFORE you move in. (Also fruit smells like apple orchard or citrus cuts through freshly paint smells the fastest.) #3~Get a cheap Shark steam mop. (I will leave a link at the bottom) It literally kills 99.96% of all germs off your floors & it cleans your floors with just regular tap water! (I use spring water from Sam's but only because my tap water is HARD water)~ So your not buying cleaning fluids every couple of months or replacing a mop. I paid less than $75 including the shipping for mine online and I ordered a set of replacement pads (that you wash in your washer (saves money). It's easy peezy to use~ takes me less than 10 minutes to mop my whole apartment (1500 square foot apartment). I have owned an expensive stem mop and this one works just as good as the more expensive ones... #4~Keep a notebook for your budget. KNOW what your monthly bills are and always if you can pay them BEFORE they are due~ (this will help with building your credit rating) Good luck and have fun! Also if you ever don't know how to do something, ask someone. You can never learn if you don't ask questions. www.walmart.com/ip/EEEkit-3-6Pack-Microfiber-Steam-Washable-Reusable-Mop-Pads-for-Shark-Vacuum-Cleaner-S1000-S1000A-S1000C-S1000WM-S1001C-Replacement-Mop-Pads/362284972?athbdg=L1700 www.walmart.com/ip/Shark-Steam-Mop-S1000WM/56113019?athbdg=L1200 God Bless
Moving out is so exciting!! I think everyone should live alone at some point in their life for a while. You really learn so much about yourself and how you want things and you learn to just BE with yourself. Take your time and enjoy it!
I moved into a dorm about six minutes from my house. I text my parents pretty much all day long, just silly updates. They hear when something funny happens or when one of my professors does something dumb or whatever it may be.
So proud of you Alex! You've always inspired me to be humble and greatful and be a good person! I'm 25,and after lots of illness and homelessness I finally got accepted for my first home today! So we can start this journey together 💪😁 I look forward to everything you have coming, you're amazing! Love and light 🙏🤍
Proud of you alex my boy is turning 17 an im already stressing the day he wants to move out on his own. This video just made it even more real. But your an amazing young man an please always keep a key for mommy an daddys home cause no matter what that will always be your home also. Very exciting for sure. My daughter moved out when she was 19. She was just down the road and we helped her move. I was fine. Until we took we took the last load and was saying goodbye. Then we both cried like babies. Lol Now she lives in Seattle and I live in Oregon. I still cry. Lol So cut your mom lots of slack if she gets emotional, it's a huge thing for us mom's! And Dad's!
Be cautious with the apt that has a smell. Were they the 2 apts you were told about before and one of them still has the smell? Then it can't be the new paint. The carpet is what's making the apartment smell funny. Either clean it or see if you can get it replaced
haha that's just what i was thinking. paint will take care of the smell on the walls, but it's hard to make a carpet un-smell. haha
All the best, just a suggestion if you sign anything put in a clause that the landlord has to get rid of the odour.

"Ozone" spray that is used in hospitals, or Baking Soda works well for odors. You may need to have the carpet pulled up. Carpets hold odors
