My opinion of every aircraft type: Attacker: Use to attacking ground units if its close,or use it to defend your cities by attacking ground units that is attacking your city. Bombers: Use to support your infantry in a long ranged country to attack the enemy ground units Fighters: Very good beating aircrafts, i reccomend you make 2 to 5 of fighters
Bombers beat attackers in a 1v1 and AA guns cannot kill them in a reasonable amount of time, so sometimes it’s a good idea to send in your bombers even if they have anti air stationed there

BTW there is thing where if there in a lot of planes in the server like a few dozen thats not merged it will slow down the server a lot and if there is a few hundred it can crash the server this is mostly in bombers
In a navy, submarines are very effective against troops on water (all naval units are good against troops on water, submarine just does it best). Submarines are also good against aircraft carriers, and battleships (though it will take a while for a submarine to sink battleships). Destroyers and frigates are good against submarines (destroyer has better ASW than frigate). Battleships and aircraft carriers are good against destroyers and frigates, also very good at attacking troops on land (destroyers and frigates can also attack troops on land, but their damage is not a lot when compared to a battleship or aircraft carrier). All ships have AA. Ships are generally weak to artillery (if the artillery is present in large amounts, or if the artillery has damage upgrades), though destroyers and aircraft carriers can outrange the artillery if the artillery is not maxed. Air superiority in RoN can be deciding in wars. For example I was fighting a late game war (Portugese empire vs pala empire) he had a much large army and artillery force than me but my aircraft carriers in the Indian Ocean were used as a base for bombers who bombed his cities a lot and crippled his economy. And I was fighting Russia as turkey early game, pushed him up the Caucasus mountains but my air superiority and support of attackers and bombers I managed to defeat a much larger force and eventually push up to Moscow and take all of Ukraine, Belarus the Caucasus’s until I had to go. Naval superiority was sort of important but my air allowed me to kill millions of Russian troops before they reached mine
