Pet flying squirrel plays dead with a broom [

- This pet flying squirrel put on a performance deserving of an Oscar - playing dead with a broom to get his owner's attention.
Two-year-old Bobo knocked over the sweeping brush and then rolled over with it so it landed across his chest. With his wings stretched out, Bobo looked like he had been flatted by a large pole.
Hilariously, the cheeky rodent kept adjusting the handle of the makeshift murder weapon before returning to his pose to appear unconscious.
However, every so often, Bobo could be seen breaking character to see if anyone had noticed his rouse.
Owner Joe recorded her adorable pet as it played in the kitchen at her home in Taoyuan, Taiwan, on May 27.
She said: 'Bobo has unlocked new skills. He can do heavy-weight training and he has learned how to be an actor.'
Joe said that Bobo is two years and four months old and she has been keeping him as a pet since he was born.
She added: 'Bobo has his own personality just like a human. He is very smart but also mischievous. Mostly he likes to play games and get my attention.
'He sometimes watches TV with me, so that could be how he learned his trick.'
Flying squirrels are small, adorable creatures with big eyes and bushy tails. This makes them appealing to many people who are looking for a pet that is both cuddly and playful.
They are nocturnal but also highly sociable and intelligent and enjoy spending time with their owners.

That's just to cool... I had a squirrel when I was 14...I eventually set him free.. I took him to school with me many times..left him in the biology lab.. everybody lived my squirrel.. no cage. He could come and go as he please thru a window.. he found a girl friend and choose a good life with her.. still came to me when I called him..

This is so cool. One time I saw a squirrel outside my 2nd story window that was climbing along the backyard fence when it decided to jump down on a tarp. The tarp was covering my lawnmower that formed sort of a slide- well, the squirrel saw something there and jumped on it and it slid down. He thought it was so much fun for the next 10 minutes that's all he did was get on the fence, jump on the tarp, slide down, repeat and rinse. Had to get my wife up to see it so she wouldn't think I was making it up. That told me something about squirrels.
Haha. Squirrels are awesome. When I was a kid my mom's boyfriend at the time rescued 3 baby squirrels that fell from their nest and were ready to die. They were all covered in magots and in bad shape. 2 of the squirrels sadly didn't make it as they were too far gone and infested with maggots. The one squirrel survived tho. We built her a giant cage to climb around in, and even tied a rope from our window to the tree outside. She would climb all over us, play with us, sit in our hand as we pet her, she was a dog with a bushy tail. She always came back to the house every night until she didn't.

I have a small plastic shed next to my house under an oak tree. The squirrels love to jump off of the tree onto the shed roof and bounce off of it to my house roof, then run across the roof and go back up the tree to repeat. They do this for about an hour or so every morning. It's quite loud, but too funny🤣

A good friend for him would be the cheeky ground hog that eats a farmers produce right in front of the farmer's face as he stands DIRECTLY facing the outdoor surveillance camera ( eating the produce ) the farmer set up to see who is eating his vegetables. 😅

At first I thought it was a joke or photo shop... but as I watch with the "real sound in the background" and see the entire clip; and that it's a pet - it all makes sense. Squirrels are very clever! Even to the end when no one is reacting or scolding him... he abandon's the broom-stick. Soooo funny. I could watch over & over. Im hooked on smart squirrel antic videos now.

I have grossly underestimated the intelligence of the animal kingdom
Just had to watch this again! Clever little fellow. Unless this is learnt behaviour which seems unlikely, then he has shown planning towards an intangible and abstract result and uses manipulative skills. The reward could be attention, sympathy, laughs - whatever, but it’s clear he has a plan. This isn’t instinctive either.
My cat manipulates me because he’s figured out he’s likely to get more food by being a smooch, however I think that’s learnt behaviour.
This is on a whole new level of smart. 👍🏻
