Great Video! Might I suggest you invest $30 or $40 in a cordless lapel mic so we can hear you better. I think you can have a super channel but it takes some proper video and audio equipment. Looking forward to following your adventures.

I learned how to insulate a trailer and we stayed very cozy. LOL i love her. GenX humor!

What a great skill to know how to do...!
We used hay bails to skirt the bottom of the trailer when we wintered in it.
It helped but it was still very cold!

If you place insulated underpinning around the bottom of the trailer, it keeps cold wind from blowing under and the floor is much warmer.

Oh I like that idea...so nice of you to share that with us... we enjoy learning new things up here in Alaska- especially when they = warmth in the winter!!
      So very important here.
      Thank you!..

People do that all the time with trailers they live in. How can someone not think of that themself? Makes you wonder if they actually live in it.

We got our land over 20 years ago through the state. We have 4.5 acres in the Meadow Lakes area and 8.5 acres about 8 miles east of Talkeetna that is trail accessible only.

Oh neat! The state offers some pretty affordable programs here.
Not many people are aware of the programs.
I enjoy spreading the word that they are available!
So important to have property if you can. Good job on 2 parcels!

@@Alaskan6pack I bid on my first land in 1980 when I became a resident. I didn’t win one until 1988. It was a remote 40 acre parcel. The land east of Talkeetna was over the counter. It’s nice property. I don’t think anyone wanted to cut a trail in over 1/4 mile trail off the main trail.

There are many components to purchasing land...
Nobody taught us exactly the steps, so you learn as you go...
And some of the steps we feel are important are not spelled out in any text book on buying land!..LOL.

      Hello there!
We are between Talkeetna and Willow area.
So great to hear you are thinking about doing a similar type of living!
The freedom of this life is amazing, but it's rough on the pocketbook! LOL...
Getting all and any debt down before the plunge would be awesome (if possible).
How exciting! Alaska is truly amazing and the possibilities for opportunity in all forms exists here.

@@Alaskan6pack I bought a school bus to convert to RV and am working on building an online income writing novel series and illustrations that I will also sell as prints. Once everything is in place, including a $10,000 emergency fund I will be off slowly inching towards AK while I explore the rest of the us, from NC to Seattle. I hope I can go slow through Canada, but if they are still not letting visitors stay long term (at least 2 weeks/150 miles) I will just take the ferry… then the land search bigins in the Alaskan playground (everything south of anchorage from turnagin arm to Seward and Homer) the kid in me is tickled with the idea of living in a school bus at the playground!!

Yes. Her name is Miriam Guido.
      907-795-3905
I think she is based out of Wasilla
She is very personable, thorough and patient.
We have enjoyed working with her on a few transactions.
My mother also has worked with her and was happy with her services.
      Thank you and good luck!
