This is the best video I have found so far. For the first time I felt like I was learning someting because you explained the patterns well. It helps a lot to read what you’re saying (text on screen). It is much easier to follow. I will use this video to train this boss fight. Thank you.
Another thing I've learned about his second phase is if you avoid two of his attacks in a row, he will do a sweep that you can Snap Kick over into a counter.
Used the video when going for the platinum, and now I'm revisiting it to best him again in the 45th arena challenge from the new dlc. Much appreciated the breakdown.
Thank you very much for the detailed and very insightful guide! Out of like 5 or 6 guides and countless walkthroughs -- only yours really made the knowledge 'click' and actually complete the boss fight! Respect, sir! 🙏
@@UnbrokenOdds Yeah, exactly! Feels like you've graduated or smth :D And now to the no-death run -- it's like the non-stop cycle of fighting is on:P But even that won't be the end of this game! Already found some "randomizer" mods that mix up the enemies you encounter as well as moveset mods -- so essentially it's like a platform for Kung-Fu combat, hope the devs will continue this game, one way or another.
In the second phase if you hug the wall you can bait his jump attack and parry it for a counter. Takes practice but is pretty consistent on the latest patch.
Fighting Yang is basically like fighting a older versions of yourself I’ve heard glad I managed to defeat him and get the true ending and be less than 25
Small bonus tip You don’t have to use eye poke to stab the last guy because he says something before attacking so just stab before he finishes talking Same thing with the big guy at the beginning of the stairs if you already have a knife let him talk (don’t be too close or else he will attack) and stab him before he finishes talking
“Calm down, take it slowly” That’s real just beat him after trying for a year I love how the game makes u such a bad a** chasing a fight then in the last one you really have to let it come to you
Yes, you can parry the double elbow finishers. It's just a tight timing. If timing is not a matter for you, you can go full sekiro and parry everything he does. Even when he dodges you and throws a nut punch to ascending claw, that's also parryable, or dodgeable and, therefore, punishable. Everytime you take the nut punch to ascending claw damage, or everytime his attack stuns you in his first phase, he straight up throws a heel kick but he doesn't when you don't get hit. Remember, great part of his moveset is your whole skill tree but slightly buffed and with few extra moves. Just study your own character, you'll be always there figuring out Yang's patterns
Before this video i died 1-2 times per each form. Not expected that just having this stick his stagger bar filled so much quicker. After that I beat him under 25 on the first try. Ty!
This boss in mainly Parry/Deflection, once you have mastered these this boss gets easy. It’s always a challenge but if you spend you points wisely into parry stagger damage you barely have to do any damage to him, especially this second phase.
I never tried dowloading his patterns. I already go the ones that are kinda similar to our character's moves and focused on doing the aggressive playstyle. Works most the time
I've been trying him since yesterday, he's age 38. Took me ages to get past the 1st phase but I can't get used to the swipe attack in the 2nd, it's doing me over every time.
@@UnbrokenOdds I managed yesterday and spared him next time round today, both on last lives aged 70 something but started the sanctuary aged 35 I think. Now for finishing below 50 & 25 🤣
Some more tips: - In Phase 2, if you stand close to the wall, Yang will use his wall jump strike. It's very easy to avoid and it might sound tempting to bait him into doing it, but you're actually best off standing far away from walls so he doesn't wall jump. All you get from successfully avoiding that is 2 hits, maybe a full combo if you stun. Parrying more challenging hits will help you kill him quicker. - In Phase 2, if he knocks you down with the sweep, and if you have the Ground Counter move learned, spam block to counter the followup punch. You will stand up unscathed and knock Yang down on the ground. - Depending on which moves you can or cannot counter well, you might want to hit him more than 2 times so that he parries you. His counters are challenging to parry, but he only has two counter combos - one for deflect and one for avoid, and they're the same every time. You can lock him in a loop like this.
Think it's patched now, because I got to him at 21 and he's pretty much impossible to beat now. And the controls are not so good. I'm doing perfect dodges and he still manages to hit me. Oh, well I backed up the save I'll play again when they have a new patch.
there are 2 more moves that he does in the second phase..one is chasing strikes( not raining strikes) and the other is similar to crooked foot where he hits u and throws u to the ground
Heads up anyone who wants a different way. Keep the staff and spam the tables and chip. It takes awhile but u dont need to defend half as much. For first instance.
Yang on Wude made me scream like a chimpanzee on Adderall. After you spare him, you fight him the third time and the bastard just kept spamming directional throws
Thanks I can tell im getting Better at 1st phase but im gonna struggle wit 2nd phase cuz i dont usually make it to there and all the wall jumping and unparriable attacks throw me off
The game has the option to remap buttons, personally I remapped my block to R1, Dodge to circle (and then mapped circle to my left programmable button on the back of my dual sense edge) I made take down L2 and R2, and I made directional throw L3 and then mapped that to my right programmable button on the back of the edge controller, so far this button scheme is damn near perfect.
The hardest boss, in my opinion, is the Artist. The last boss is pretty simple once you know his moves. The easiest boss is the 1st, followed by the 2nd, but the 4th is pretty easy because she’s old and takes a ton of damage.
I personally think Sean is the easiest, because all you have to do with him is spam the low-weave dodge, then attack him. In the second stage he sometimes adds a low staff sweep, but I simply roll away or make sure I stay close, because he mainly just uses that move to close the distance.
My left hand is still in pain from pressing L1 after the final spare fight and some trophies left. Im not as good as any of these guys but heres what worked for me with some persistence. When he makes his first swooping move - avoid….next just spam L1 for his barrage of punches… as soon as that is complete spam heavy heavy heavy till he backs off a little. …. Keep repeating this three move flow till the final is over. Avoid, parry, hit.
When you avoid the the attack where he jumps back and then swings at you 3 times with the charged fists do you flick down 3 times or do you flick the stick left and right. I swear I was dodging this particular attack most times by flicking down on the stick but now it doesn't seem to work since the update?
I personally use left and right when doing it.I find the trick is you have to let or make the thumb stick return to the middle before the next one or it doesn't always register which is why going left to right works for me
@Unbroken Odds yeah I think that's what I actually noticed today. I'm flicking it down but to try and be quicker I'm not allowing the stick to return to the middle. I'm on the last boss at age 21. I need this trophy for completing at age 25! 😂
@Unbroken Odds thanks bro. I can beat him on the first round no problem. Just parry everything and then flick up for the sweep. But on the second round, just parry everything doesn't seem to work. Would it be safer to just block everything and then attack when there is an opening? Is there like a simpler strategy they may just take a bit more time 😂
Yeah blocking most of his stuff could work or just avoiding it all. That's how I beat him the first time just stood in one spot and avoided everything and attacked after he opened up. Takes a long time and if you mess up it can be pretty frustrating with how long it takes
@@UnbrokenOdds As long as there isn't a red circle (Like grabs), you can parry it. When yiu pary you still take posture damage. Although less. But, Even if your posture bar is filled, you won't get stunned. If you played sekiro, it's simmilar
