You are doing some amazing work by showcasing this mountain range in depth, nobody else has documented these trails the way you have on TH-cam so it's really a testament to the natural beauty of lesser known parts of Nevada.
Thanks! I liked hiking in the great basin so much I've thought about moving out to like Reno or something in the distant future. It's funny cuz the Sierra are right there. And then a few hours east are these mountains that practically no one knows anything about. And there's tons of them! NV is gorgeous.
Good videography. That takes work. I'm planning a Ruby Crest Trail backpack in last half of October, 2023. **If beaver ponds are IN USE be very sure to sterilize yer water down stream from them. (giardia!, "beaver fever") I'll be using my Osprey EXOS 58 L. pack, Tarptent Notch Li solo tent, WM down bag and STS mattress. Also canister-top Crux stove.
Sounds like a blast! I'd like to get out to the Rubies myself. There's some cross country routes that look good to make a crest loop. How do you like your Notch Li?
Thank you for such an amazing video and info on the area i been researching it and this was very helpful . Is there any fish in any of the rivers or ponds ?
Thanks! hard to find info on places that aren't on Outside's top-10 bucket list, lol. I'm not a fisherman but from other trip reports I can tell you it's a popular place to cast a line.
Another awesome video bud. Been following your channel for a long time now. Being an Arizona resident myself I especially like watching your videos when you are out in the superstition mountains.
Thank you! Yeah not very much on this place or really anywhere in NV. You might check out the channel 'Seeking Lost' too. He's been making his own sort of "long trail" routes in the area and one of the episodes features this place.
We enjoy all your hiking videos - such high quality. The effort you put into these is appreciated! We were hiking in Nevada in June, too, in the Ruby Mountains.
@Wildland Explorer The Rubies were beautiful. Some snow on the trail at Lamoille Lake when we were there. I hadn't been at that elevation for a few years and was reminded it takes time to acclimate!
Thank you! Apparently NV is the most mountainous state in the union. Who knew!? Those 3rd person shots are actually not drone shots. Drones are pretty much banned in wilderness areas and national parks. Those were made using an Insta360 One X2 360 camera. It uses a combination of super wide lenses and software to stitch the image together and in the process removes the selfie stick. It’s pretty neat tech!
Great vid, beautiful place! I have seen a lot of hiking videos and I always wonder the same thing. Don't you get tired of setting up a tripod, walking past it and then coming back to get it? That is one shot I never understand from solo hiker videographers. I would lose my patients after the 2nd or 3rd shot.
Thanks! Yes it can get tiring but it is fun to review the scenery in editing. It's rewarding to hear about other solo travelers who may have anxiety about traveling to these places - where these videos have bridged the knowledge gap for areas not frequently traveled and documented on social media.
Hey man, excellent videos. I wanted to connect with you and talk about your experience in the Arc Dome Wilderness as my buddy and I are planning a trip there coming up.

I really like your channel. Not a lot of fluff or EDM montages that annoy me. Not preachy, just a dude hiking. Much appreciated.
Totally agree 👍
Just discovered your channel and am loving the long form videos, thanks for posting!

Too kind! How were the Rubies? I almost went out there myself but Arc dome was this big "?", hardly anyone knows about it and I had to explore.

I never realized there was so much mountain Wilderness in Nevada! It does look very much like the Gila. Nice work with the drone!

Sure thing, what would you like to know?
have you heard of the UK fell walker Wainright.
I'm disappointed you didn't invite me. I live in Nevada and would love to have come out to meet and hike with you.
