I couldn’t watch as you was letting your partner unknowingly unscrew the cable screw out with no eye protection when that cable was like a coiled spring waiting to go off! She was so lucky it didn’t take her eye out… and can I just add if you had just cut the shutter door straight up the middle it would have been a lot easier to disassemble, good luck with the build…
Hey Terry, thanks for your concern but I didn't set my wife up to be attacked by a coiled cable 🤦🏻. Neither of us knew what would happen, hence our reaction. Hopefully the video will prevent any coiled cable injuries. We wanted to remove the door in one piece to sell it, which we did. Cutting it in half would be a slog and would require a lot of tea breaks haha. Regards, Jolly
What is your plan now that the shutter is out? Are you replacing with diy or a prefabricated product?
Hey, check out our van build playlist, it has follow up videos of the rear wall.

Did you measure how much weight you saved by removing the roller shutter?
Nope. It was much heavier than we expected
