That's one of the main reasons I watch Pitch Meeting. Looks like Ben and Ryan need to have a crossover episode: Warhammer explained by Ryan George, terrible movies explained by Ben Edgar.
I remember when me and my boyfriend were watching Indiana Jones 4 and 5, he thought that Mutt was going to become the next Indy I feel like 5 would've been far better, if we had Mutt as the main character, with Indy as the 'old mentor' character like how Sean Connery was in the third movie I think that'd have been awesome Movie ends with Mutt leaving Indy back in Ancient Syracuse, and the character of Indiana Jones dies happy in the history he spent his life studying
The first three were perfect films and ended beautifully riding into the sunset. Especially when you watch the movies in order of events and get to see the character development. Young Indiana scene at the start of "Last Crusade" pause then watch "Temple of Doom". Then "Raiders of the Lost Ark" with the rest of "Last Crusade" to end off the marathon.
Worked on the film, feel like it gets dragged through the mud because of the rep of the previous film. It was never gonna be as good as the first three but I personally felt it did a fair job of keeping the spirit of indy alive. Also a LOT of it is face replacement (obviously) but personally I was pretty surprised at how many parts of the stunt sequences Harrison was up for doing, considering his age and past experience with injuries on set
@@dangercorp yep also i dont get how you could ever hate a movie in a franchise that you love. its just better or worse. crystal skull is also fine but not as good as the old ones for sure. same goes with star wars. i dont hate any of them. some are just not as memorable as others.
Ben left out the part where his wife takes him back, so he still gets a bit of a happy endning. But agreed, the movie was too long. I still kinda liked it tho'.
It honestly is a super fun film, a couple characters I really wanted to enjoy but they stopped mattering. And the end is genuinely trash but post adventure, it's a pretty wholesome way to say goodbye to the character
It’s sad how many modern writers actively despise the series they work on. Imagine how good the Witcher and Halo shows could’ve been with people who care for the source material
it was apparently going to be much worse with a young indy dying to save the woman in WWII, then she picks up the hat and the credits are her replacing the original indy in his adventures it got about 30% positive review in test screenings and they were forced to change it
ever since massive blockbusters like Lord of the Rings, studios used it as a recipe to create fanatical viewers. And every movie has to be ready to have a part 2 in case of unforseen mass appeal. it's just shotgun scattershot of bloated movies created by committee. Hollywood used to take chances, man...
Oh wow I just want to hear Ben summarize every movie I don't feel like watching
Yes please
watch vault hunters him duncan and harry do it all the time😂

I still remember the GTA video in which Ben explained the plotlines from various Fast and Furious movies. Absolute gold!
Ben's the true producer guy!
y'know when he said "the dial of destiny is a trap ... it only goes back ..." i suddenly started thinking about glass jars for some reason.
The bigger the jar,the bigger the jump
Honestly it’s entertaining enough to see once. The flight scene is pretty cool. Other than that it is what it is.
Indy: "Leave me here."
Disney: "No."
The worst part was how they skipped over the plot line of Indy being wanted by the police/fbi for murder lol
"It wasn't me officer, it was the time travelling Nazis."

Yeah, that'll hold up in court.
But did he kill his wife?
Shia labeouf died on the way to his home planet.

I'm really impressed with the new indiana jones filmmaker's dedication towards making Temple of Doom look better, they must be huge fans.
You mean Crystal Skull? Temple of Doom is a classic
@@Shlepp yeah and until CS came out it was by far the worst Indiana Jones movie

Annoyingly Ben spoke about the bad movie by only explainging the only good part, when they eventually go back in time.

there have been meetings about the script and this version was approved.. makes you wonder how shit were the other drafts?
Much can be said about the last few Indiana Jones, but at least I remember the aliens. I don't even recall what happened in Dial of Destiny..
Chase on a train in the 40's, Old Man Indiana Jones, A lot of chasing, a single puzzle in a cave, more chasing, Time travel Roman Nazi fight.
Ben sold me on this one. Damn.
I'll be honest, I really liked it. Better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull I think. First 3 are still the best by far.
8:00 yeah, but his wife comes back. You forgot about that.
honestly the movie is fine if a bit long. the CGI is genuinely good. its no last crusade. but its better than the crystal skull.
Fully agree. But I'm a tremendous fan of Indiana. Weirdly Ford looked better in his Indy gear at this age than he did in Crystal Skull.

It's somehow 70% critic. 88% audience on RT. If I needed any more reason to not rely on that site for anything...
Usually these lads have great opinions but exception proves the rule I guess.
Glad I missed it.
Low tech vs high tech can be fun, like in gate.

Oh no, according to Disney and Twitter people didn't like it because of Girl indiana jones

only if you have no understanding of film in any way
Every bloody film is way too long nowadays, half it is just fluff too. Can't we go back to 90 min films.

Wow the movie is bad when you skip the entire last 40 minutes... Who could've guessed
Your comment has the same energy that people who say you can't criticize a videogame without finishing it have.
I watched the movie in full, and it sounds like Ben had a better time.
