I heard from a Chinese comedian performed in comedy central in Singapore saying the microphone setting wasn’t great to record the audience in this theatre. So, it may have nothing to do with the Singaporeans. It might be just the mic…

I've seen funnier material from her in the past but there were some good jokes in there. Her delivery here seemed slower than usual & I think part of that was probably her being aware of the language barrier & slowing down to make sure they caught her jokes. So the language barrier I think was part of the reason for the 'dead audience'.
She's usually very saavy in her humor & pop culture references but most are geared towards Western audiences since she lives in Canada. I think she removed some of her saavier pop culture references probably because they haven't played well to other Asian audiences. Just a guess, but most comedians will tailor their sets according to the city/country their in. Love Yumi!

Stand up comedies are not very popular in the Asia regions. I've lived in both East and West, I found the westerners feel more comfortable with the performers and thereby more interact. Asians watch stand up comedy just like any other performance, they often keep quiet until the performer is complete.
