    Tip: if you're someone who scrolls on your phone while you're doing your business in the bathroom, you can use that time to listen to a podcast or review some flashcards on your phone🤣💁🏻‍♀🤷🏻‍♀ if your work or school is far from where you live, you can use that time to listen. I have about a 40-90 min drive to uni and back 4x a week, so I always use that time to listen to a podcast in my target languages (or affirmations, cause mindset is important, too ;))

      I have been doing 15-mins duolingo sessions in the bathroom everyday - i'm on the 250-days streak!

    I'm not sure if it counts, but I use the days of the week as my anchor(s). And apply my target language to tiny repetitive tasks that I do daily like bathe, eat clean and using social media in the target language..... I do 6 languages consecutively....

      @@winniemaereact1391 well, if you're asking about me I'm currently studying Swedish, began to learn ASL the correct way (tried to learn years ago, knew very little but thought I was a pro), and in 2023 I'm starting Russian, plus picking Spanish back up. Crossing my fingers that I'll learn more on my own than I did for my 3.5 years from school

    One could smile knowing my anchor: Duolingo!
    More seriously, my main obstacle to learning is procrastination, Duolingo helps me a lot, especially to practice pronunciation and speaking.

    I know that every day (unless something unexpected happens) between 18 - 20 it's time for learning a language. Usually I set 2 forest sessions. if I feel capable I do more, but never less that 1 session (45 mins). it's already in my blood I think :D

    I started making a daily schedule for everything at the start of this year. I find it makes a huge difference having a physical schedule than just put on a device like, every night before bed I usually write down or make a list. However, in regards to language learning it has changed a little but. For example, I used to do an hour of Russian and Swedish each but with school it became to exhausting so now, it is 40 minutes each. And if I do not have time time to learn or I am sick I will at least watch something in that target language. I ended up only taking one class this semester so, I could focus on my health but next semester I want to try and manage at least 2-3 so, I will see how that works out.

    You are great person and I've been learning English when I was watching your video. I bought own Notebook and it's amazing how many hours I was spending to improve my English and you are inspired me and I start learning the seconds language - Spanish. I 'm a mum and I spend every possible moment to learn my language. It is hard but not impossible. I heard about smart study and I loved it. The book 'Deap work' which you recommended sounds great and I'll put on my gift list. And my daily routine was change and now I want to more listening than before. If something doesn't work is natural for me let it go. But a few years ago was not the case by me. Thanks for your movie :)

    I've been trying to set modest goals for a while now but back in the day I used to do the opposite. I never reached the goals but I got excited about them. I miss that. I think I am going to give ambitious goals a shot again.

    I do like the idea of writing things down, maybe in some sort of journal. I tend to do a lot tech based things when it comes to language learning, but doing some writing might be a useful way for me to track progress.
    I've often thought about iTalki lessons but they can be expensive. If I can set enough money aside one day, I'll definitely do them.
    I've found some language exchanges for Spanish that have been good, but I need to make a regular habit of these as it's pretty much the only regular way I get speaking practice (although I have a cruise in a few days that goes to multiple parts of Spain).
    I try not to compare myself to others, but it's difficult. Historically I set high standards for myself and can get annoyed if I don't achieve thrm.

    They don't mess around, they engage in the language and take it seriously. Alot of people like the idea of knowing a language, they don't want to learn it though, so they do the bare minimum of 30min a day messing around, doing some duolingo and "shadowing" some youtube-video imagining they will be fluent by the end of the year.

    • @英語わかりません
      @英語わかりません ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ice Then they whine about getting nowhere and "have been studying for 10 years" and can barely string a sentence together, then you find out that they do 20-30min a day tops. Here I am doing 6-8 hrs for a couple of years and they are looking for my sympathy. I hate these lazy energy thieves. Either sh1t or get off the pot.
