Beyblade Burst's version of Bit-Beasts are called Avatars. There's also this force called Resonance. If a Blader has a strong bond with their Bey, the Beyblade gets more powerful in battle and glows. Several bladers, typically the main characters, have been shown speaking directly with their Avatar in this mind place type dimension.
I didn't know they called them avatars but it makes sense because before the bit beast were based off an animal mythical or otherwise but now they base of historical figures
And mind you, the Avatars are not physically inside the Beyblades. There more of a meta-physical presence. That doesn't mean they're not real though. As a blader can be consumed by their Avatar if they try to force a bond, which is referred to as Dark Resonance. The main character of Turbo, Aiger, suffered from this when he let his drive to be the best consume him. He started dominating "Z Achilles", his Beyblade.
The metal series did have its own versions and it was far from just the Pegasus. In that show the bey blades were like literal weapons Anyway my favorite from burst was turbo, with rise and evolution being second and third.
The character with blue hair you see all the time is valt the first burst protagonist grows from a weak bladder to the number one ranked bladder even after he loses the title he just says f the title and somehow through pure power stays number one he becomes the legend of legends which is why you see him as a lvl above the other old bladers
I prefer the Burst series because they display the characters each one isn't perfect even in battle. I love the emotions in scenes you'll feel sympathy for the characters and itll just makes you want to watch more and more i swear
Also to answer your question: The Bit-Beasts or “Avatars” of Burst are all based off of actual Mythological figures and creatures. The First Protagonist, Valt Aoi is called Valkyrie, Based off of the Valkyrie’s in Norse Mythology. Aiga Akaba’s Is Achilles. One of Greek Mythologies many great heroes. Drum Kohryu’s is called “Dragon”. It’s base off of the Dragon of the Chinese Zodiac. The twins Hyuga and what’s his name are Hyperion and Helios. Titans from Greek mythology. And finally Bel is made of the many demon lords of heck, Belial. The Demon Lord of Wrath or something or other. Finally the new girl, P or Q something is Pandora. The first women from Greek Mythology. Burst is a great series I recommend giving it a try once you’ve got time.
I would really go back and watch the metal series if I were your because if you thought the main character was the only one with powers you really didn’t get far enough to see anything else I would recommend for sure

And Metal Fury actually does have magic in it. Also, characters from Masters appear in Fury so you you'll need to watch it for context.
the final season for this era of beyblade ended a few days ago. beyblade burst was a fun era. Some seasons were kind of mid but the seasons that were good were GOOD. Not sure if beyblade is your thing but if you're interested i would recommend it
