  • Rabbi Yaron Reuven discusses the complexities of conversion to Judaism. He emphasizes that while there are many individuals who genuinely desire to convert and embrace Jewish life, there are also those who convert for superficial reasons like marriage or financial gain.
Rabbi Reuven highlights the issue of unqualified Rabbis who charge exorbitant fees for conversions, leading to questionable conversions that are not recognized by the Beis Din of Israel. This creates challenges for individuals seeking to live fully as Jews in Israel or within the Jewish community. He stresses that genuine conversions require commitment, study, and adherence to Jewish law, not just a financial transaction.

Baruch H-shem! My husband and I are still awaiting a decision from our local beit din as to our application for conversion. Not only did we confirm that Christianity is total garbage but all other religions as well at the same time as finding out my husband has Jewish ancestry. We watch you, Rabbi Mizrachi and many more daily. We both wish we could just sit and learn Torah all day. May H-shem continue to shine blessings on you, your family and the work that you do for Him.

9:08 Am Yisrael was enslaved for 86 years, not 210. 210 (or 215 according Pirke De’Rabbi Eliezer and Josephus) was the number of years עם ישראל was in מיצרים.

Shalom Nechama, I just came across your comments here and was wondering how you are doing, how did your conversion go, and if successful, how is your Jewish life now, after several years :)
I wish you a good day

if you say its so great then why do every Jew tries to convince people that they should not convert. (I do not mean to imply that I think it is not great, because I do think it is great and have often thought of converting ).

How could any credible Rabbi think it's justifiable to charge obscene amounts of money to help a soul live in Hashems truth and be apart ofnhis nation!?!?! What's the matter with these people!?! We need Moshiach! We need new Rabbis thats care about Hashem and all of Hashems people!

    • @michelkeslacy8427

Yael Meisels , you are 100 percent correct. To many of us we do Giyur with 3 loving Jewish people. And absolutely 100 percent no charge. We are very happy just to bring people to Hashem and His Holy Torah. May Hashem bless you and keep you.

I'm not saying these rabbis don't have the right to charge a little bit of money for their time. But when we're talking thousands upon thousands of dollars it would make me question why is it that my Rabbi only charged me $18 to go to the Mikvah and someone else's rabbi charges thousands of dollars. The more expensive geyiot isn't any more or less kosher in Heaven!

If Judaism is the only true religion why don’t they do more to proselytize? Most Jews I know take pride in not trying to convert people.

Judaism teaches that there's simply no need to for non-Jews to convert, merely for them to live a "righteous" life via 7 Noahide Laws
A Rabbi explains in this video

You don't have to be Jewish to be right with Hashem, which is why most Jews don't proselytize. Unlike Christianity and Islam, you won't go to Hell for simply not being Jewish (most Jews don't believe in the fiery underworld that's specified in the Christian Bible, anyway). However, it's still important to follow the G-d of the Torah and adhere to the laws that are proscribed for everyone (Jews and non-Jews alike). Some non-Jews consider themselves to be Noahides and follow the 7 Noahide Laws that are in the Torah.

I believe even before xtianity arrived over 2 millenia , the rabbis decreed that jews do not proselytize. The process involves being rejected 3 times by rabbis.

@@tedstout7439 Good question , Not sure I /m not a torah scholar. But when my wife wanted to convert to orthodox judaism 36 years ago . This is what we were told by the rabbis. Ask an orthodox rabbi , not sure if this is a torah tradition . or a rabbinic mandate because of 2 k of anti- semitism. and questions that arise from so many displaced jews. over 3 millemia

If you are concerned about the people who either their family was forced to convert or dad was Jewish but mommy was not or mommy was Jewish became a Christian ditched the paperwork and kids with Jewish heritage wish to be part of there Jewish history. Why don't you form a network to help the. not everyone is a millionaire.
