Hannah, after all these years, I still remembered you!! I miss those vlogs Lily had when she was in those prime years lol
I did a cooking course in Italy and the chef was very passionate about „always finish the pasta in the sauce!“, so cook the pasta just shy before al dente, then put the pasta in the sauce and cook for 2mins IN the sauce. And I must say, he is soooooo right! 🍝

Totally get the feeling weird and not ready to go back to "normal" yet, yesterday i thought i could get the train to Sheffield (it's about an hour, but my next nearest "cool" city) and go browse my favourite little shops and things, and pre-pandemic i'd have just done it without thinking much more about it, but instead i just felt like i wasn't ready, and it also felt like quite a lot of effort to go to for a day out when i could order the things i wanted online, and just spend the day at home. I think i'm a massive homebody too so i don't feel like i've been trapped at home all this time.

Totally relate to feeling weird about going out of lockdown. I don't think I'll feel comfortable until I'm vaccinated. It feels strange to see people out and going to restaurants, going on the tube etc. Then I feel like there's something wrong with me that I haven't been able to get my head around it when so many people have. Anyway! Just also want to say that there were some really beautiful shots in this video, particularly the opening scene, loved the lighting, your framing, hair etc - beautiful!

Lily, australia had a minimal lock down compared to the rest of the world and yet I still stay home a lot of the time because I have learnt that is what I enjoy 😊

Really enjoyed watching this vlog, I completely agree with the weird feels coming out of lockdown! It's an adjustment and it feels like everyone is adjusting so quickly but we just have to give ourselves time and take things at our own pace
i’m usually a silent viewer and watch youtube kinda intermittently as well, but seeing hannah really made my day because i remember her from your old vlogs! it’s crazy to see how much time has passed. i never really thought about it but as i’m now in my late 20s, it just made me realize how i’ve kinda grown up watching you. it was so nice to see you two back together, and even though i may not watch every single video anymore, it’s kinda the same as with you guys, like catching up with a friend every once in a while ☺️💜

As for the slow re-entry into "normal" life - I'm with you on taking it slowly. The reality is that we're not out of the woods yet and for some people it's easier to throw caution into the wind and for others not so much. Every person will need to assess where they are and act accordingly. Compare and despair, as my therapist says :D

Maybe it's a dutch thing, but we eat together with out 3year old. We eat dinner at 5:30-6:00 pm. Also our son doesn't have a bath everyday, just 2 times a week. Bath time everyday would be way to much work and not good for his eczema. He goes to bed at 7:00 pm.
Same with my son. He doesn't bath everyday otherwise he skin would dry so quickly and it's so much work.
For Spanish people that's so early. I can't imagine anyone in spain having dinner at that time
In Sweden it's similar, dinner at 5 or 6, anything later and i would be starving. I do like an evening snack, tea and toast, at 9ish. And also same with the bath thing, kids don't get dirty enough to need a bath every day. But i imagine it's a cultural thing. Probably nice as an evening routine. Ours is a bedtime snack, 'kvällis'.
We eat dinner with my son too, I think it's just what works for you as a family

I have been shaving my face for years, because everything else gives me rash and I never noticed hair getting darker or something. I think it's a different kind of hair and it doesn't react like that to shaving.

We do eat together at 6 or 6.30 nighttime routine starts at 7 (we don’t do bath every day only washing with a cloth) All the Kids (4 years and 10 month) will be asleep at around 8. At 4 we so snacks, fruits yoghurts etc. This way they are happy to eat at 6 with us. Top tip if they get hungry by 5.30 I’ll give them veggies to eat 😁

Our dinner schedule here in our household is super similar. The kids (I have a 2 y/o little boy, and an almost 4 y/o little girl) have dinner around 5:30pm after daycare, and my husband and I usually eat around 7:30/8pm, after their night routine. Between us both working full-time, and being busy with the kids, we found that's our time to unwind without the kids. It's been like this since we had our daughter, and we don't see ourselves eating at 5:30pm with them anytime soon lol
I remember the walk back in the day and the revision tips! I remember Hannah waving at the camera for most of the walk 🎥 so cute!
Sorry if this is intrusive, but as an expat I'm really curious. Why did Hannah move back to the UK?
My guess is Australia’s strict border rules right now. I had a baby last year and as a resident I’m not allowed to leave Australia unless I apply for a one-way exemption, which makes it very tempting to move back :(

It's an interesting thing about children's dinner times - I feel like it might be a very English thing? I grew up in Scotland, but I don't remember having my evening meal (my 'tea'!) at a different time. I live in Canada now and we always ate at the same time as the kids, once they were eating the same things as us - it's been a while but we probably gave them a snack at 4 pm or so (like the French do). We lived in England for a year and a half when our boys were 3-5 and I noticed that the English parents ate separately from the kids. I'm sure it will all work out once Grey is older.

I’m English and married an Australian not thinking that I wouldn’t ever return to the UK... You seem so happy and relaxed, and I’m so glad to see that. Take care ❤️. Oh I'm a slow adapter too! Glad to know I'm not alone. Sometimes I feel like I've been left behind because I don't feel comfortable going out like many people around me.

Love the video. Totally agree on the saucy pasta, in my house we always drained the pasta and added it to the sauce in the pan to mix all together to serve it already mixed properly. Mmmmm I think there will be pasta for lunch for me as well 🍝🧀🧀
@Lily, try the electrolux pure a9 air purifier in the kitchen, it will take the smell away in seconds! Have had mine for 3 years now, best buy ever. Works absolutley great for pollen allergic as well!

Great point about not feeling ready to get back out there. We've all experienced a once in a century pandemic where we needed to stay home to protect ourselves - it will take time to feel comfortable going back out into the world. Everyone should just take things at their own pace. Transit is a tricky one for me...I have been on a bus once or twice in 14 months, but in a few months I'll have to start taking it a couple times a week again for work. It feels weird.

I feel exactly the same about lockdown! I don’t really feel ready for busy restaurants and seeing tons of people and I have so much uni work to get done I haven’t got time for it anyway 😂
For your bolognese, you can finish the pasta al dente in the sauce itself it mixes the flavours very well, it’s how they do it in Italy, so you don’t taste just pasta and just sauce, it’s nice cohesive flavour profile
