I am heartened to see another gardener using a shovel with flip flops! I have Casablanca that's been in a pot for 3 years now - much less enthusiastic bloom this year so I'm going to use your method to move it (and its little ones) into the garden when the leaves are declining. Thanks for the excellent video!
I had to focus so hard on what you were saying because your little black dog is sooooo cute! Working that runway! What kind of dog? Way too adorable! 😍
Beautiful plants & design...I bet you spend hours out there enjoying your garden of course if you're like me you never finish since a big part of the love you have for gardening is always "working" in it.
Your garden is beautiful Love the large elegant ears, gives depth and adds character Tried to grow them in my backyard but the foliage are too small, maybe because of the cold climate Those dogs are freakin cute
Get Gardening!!! That’s awesome! Oh my gosh I think southern CA is cold. I don’t think I could ever survive a Chicago winter. Can’t wait to see how your garden matures
Beautiful garden, can you share with us where is your garden. i am planning to move to souther oregon and hope to be able to have a garden such as yours... elephant ears, palm, peonies, lilies and so on..
If I keep my lily in my garden will they come back next summer ? What precautions shall we do to protect them from winter if I do not get the time to get their bulbs out ? Thank you
My 8th grade Social Studies teacher taught us, "Dirt is what is under your finger nails, soil is what you have in your garden." I don't know if it is true, but that is how I have always described the two.
I never move bulbs..Too much fun to buy and plant new ones🙂 Just planted 36 yesterday! Euroblooms from Walmart.com has prices that are hard to beat and the bulbs are nice and healthy!
Your dogs are just adorable.. Could you tell me what is the name of the trees you have in front of your porch and behind the elephant ear plant? Thank you.
Good Afternoon, I was wondering if you could help me with my 'Tiny Double You' Asiatic Lillie's, I bought 4 of them the beginning of Summer and planted them in large pots, now the tag that came with them says only 3 to 6 hours of sunshine a day, but in some videos I have been watching they say full sun, which is better? And do they flourish better in pots or in the garden? I would appreciate any input and help you could give me, thanks and have a great day.
Hi there, I have found that they perform at their best in the ground and in full sun, or as much sun as possible, there is a type of Lily called Martagon that actually perform well in shade! I do have some in pots, some have made it just fine, but some have rotted away, so if grown in pots I'd make sure to have as free draining of soil as possible by adding perlite or vermiculite! Hope this helps, let me know how they grow!
Hey just wondering my calla lilies are in full bloom now would it be best to wait until they die away to transplant them? Thanks in advance for any advice 👍
@@GetGardening thank you 😊 got them in a store and really want to repot them lol theres great content on your channel by the way i had to sub 😊 wish you all the best for the future 👍
I bought my first small pot that was already in bloom. Then I repot it in a 15" container in a sunny south exposure in front of my home. In about 2 weeks the flowers were gone and i read where they never last longer than 2 weeks on average and if one is lucky, maybe 3. The rest of the summer the plant is not very appealing to look at. Its now Fall, and I am going to dig them up....or should i leave them in that pot? I live in Zone 6 NYC area. Thank you for any info.
You could transplant them to the ground, I have one big pot with lilies in my front yard and I leave them outside all winter and they don't seem to mind at all!
They won’t mind being left in the pot but after a couple years, you’ll have baby bulbs that will also sprout new ones. I would suggest digging them up at that point because you don’t want all of them competing for the nutrients in that small area. Same goes if you plant them in the ground.
Your sweet little dog stole the show😂. Great tip on when to move the bulbs and it makes perfect sense.
Haha. Yes she’s a character!!

Is that an elephant ear plant you have there? If so do you have any tips on where & how to plant these. I just bought one.
Yep, I had several, plant in the ground, part shade to full sun and give plenty of water, need to be protected from winter!
Your dogs are just adorable.. Could you tell me what is the name of the trees you have in front of your porch and behind the elephant ear plant? Thank you.
Those are castor oil plants, they are annuals, all grown in one year!
Thank you for your informative video !
I'm glad you found it useful April!
Thanks for this video my Gardener has just wack all my lilies I'm so heartbroken right now 😢 but I could still save them so thanks for the video
Good luck!
Lovely ❤❤❤

Thank you so very much for all of your help, I know just where I am going to put them in my garden, wish me luck. Thanks again.
Good Luck! Don't forget to give us an update on how they do!
I need to move mine before they have flowered. 😬 I may sacrifice flowers for the year.
I’ve moved them preflowering. If you establish them well , keep them watered they should still bloom
Love the elephant ear
Thanks so much. I bought a bumch of Casa blanka lilies and. I réel i planted them all in the wrong spot. I am going to have to move them.
Glad it helped!!
