I must say this explains the lore very well but still represents the orks utterly indifference to it all. The emperor may not approve but the rest of the galaxy busts a groove.

Now that I think about it, the orks were actually not responsible for any of the worst things that happened in the lore, they’ve just been enjoying the ride the whole time.
It's kind of funny to think about the fact that the Orks are literally one of the oldest continued... well, calling them a civilization is maybe overly generous, but still. Out of the races that are still around, the only one's older than them are the Eldar and the Necrons, and the Necrons spent most of their history in hibernation. The only reason that Orks don't look upon humanity and T'au like pityful newcomers in the way the Necrons and Eldar do is because they have literally no interest in history and make no effort to chronicle it. Which, funnily enough, is also one of the reasons as to why they are a happy race. Almost everyone else, save maybe for the T'au who are still on their ascent and the Tyranids who aren't really sapient is occupied with getting depressed over how their glory days are long gone. Orks just live in the present, with very little concerns about their future and none about their past.
