    Man, i wish we still had some cool old yards like that down here in Evansville. Nothing but 90s and newer stuff in yards around here.

      Thanks for watching! I've got another junkyard video to upload while we were in Modoc, Indiana. It might be a week or two though before I can post it, I've got 1966 ford f250 video that needs finished!

    A very cool video. Those vehicles sure do bring back some long ago memories.
    We just found your channel yesterday, we love it and are now subscribed.
    Just looking at the vehicles is a great way to bring back some memories.
    First found you with the Suburban video. We just bought one, 1999 and owned one years ago, 1988.
    Thanks for the memories, looking forward to seeing more like this one too.

    Man there's a lot of H-Body Chevy's there! My first car in 95 was a 1980 Monza Spyder. It was slow but I loved it.

      Obviously I don't know my 70's and 80's Chevrolets, but those Vegas grew on me - did they ever offer them with a SBC?

    Thanks for the tour of the junkyard. That 59 Chevy Hood puregold hard to find. Too bad it's missing its trim. There's a salvage yard over and Southeastern Ohio and the Packard lover. Down in Virginia as well another one. You can find your location easily by going aways back on junk car Willie TH-cam channel. Thanks again for the lift around the salvage yard. As I used to tell mr. Good fliers it's fun to look at them and I don't have to get out climb over them.

      @@route40rust 👍 hey I recommended your channel to a couple of other people. You know a lot of us like seeing salvage yards or junkyard and when somebody gives out the name location phone number man that's fantastic. Thank you for the reply.

    You missed a k5 blazer across from the 67 Ford 7up truck. Another of its parts will fit your surburban.

    Those Olds diesels were just Olds 350s converted. They were very problematic and often got swapped out for gas engines.

    • @route40rust
      @route40rust  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That'd explain it! Thanks!!!!

      That's a common fallacy that the 350 diesel block is a convert gasoline block but it is not here it is built and designed to have the same displacement. First generation is completely junk. The second generation diesel was decent but it had its own problems. They third-generation buy time we got that far it was pretty good engine but the reputation for auto diesels in the United States they wrecked it. I'm only speaking of the 350 cubic inch displacement from my experience with them back in the 80s. I personally would love to find a 98 regency brougham burgundy specially with the second or third generation diesel in it. I did the conversions. The big problem was they 200 metric transmission. You put 400 turbo behind it and improve the vacuum pump that's that's where the distributor sat in a gas engine, it brought the gas mileage from fording MPG down to about 28 MPG for full size Delta 88 Royale. But it was a great combination. And I still have that 350 diesel I took out of that car because I was young and stupid and listen to too many people to convince me to do so. But after that I worked with the diesel engine and the shortcomings. by the end of the run is primarily that Oldsmobile had ruined the American public and the American public did not know how to drive these diesel cars. People say the same thing about the 6.2 diesel. I had them in my motor pool when I was in the Army. And I still own one and have it on the farm. If any of that helps.

    • @route40rust
      @route40rust  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, they prioritize their towing services but there are tons of good parts here - I've probably bought more here than any junkyard I've ever been to
