Xi and his wife meet Cambodian king, queen mother, hails the 'ironclad friendship'

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan had cordial talks with King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on Friday.
King Sihamoni arrived in Beijing for a routine medical checkup along with his mother.
Noting that King Norodom Sihamoni and the queen mother have witnessed China's reform and development, Xi said they have always cared about China's development and are good friends of the Chinese people.
Xi said the goal of awarding the Friendship Medal of the People's Republic of China to the queen mother in 2020 was to thank her for her special contribution to China-Cambodia friendship.
China stands ready to work with Cambodia to build a cooperation framework in six major areas and supports Cambodia in building the "Industrial Development Corridor" and the "Fish and Rice Corridor," Xi said, adding that the country is also willing to accelerate the building of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future.

Long live to the Queen Mother . A surprise to see her outlives her late monarch husband for so long . She n her late monarch husband were living in exile for yrs in Beijing after they were dethroned by some rebels group supported by uS. . China was their protector at the time. They were able to return home after the current cambodian PM Hun Sen came into power.
