Glad you found a little diamond in the rough with a Kirkland product. Most of the reviews I've seen of Kirkland's booze was that it has been middle of the road, with nice qualities but no real shine. That surprises me because all that stuff is sourced from all the distillers we all know and love (supposedly, Kirkland's 4 Scotch expressions are made by Alexander Murray and Macallan with their bourbon and rum made by Jim Beam, the Canadian is a Sazerac product). Apparently their vodka is supposed to be worthy of awards and wins in blinds a lot, which is good to know if I ever need good vodka and don't want to pay 3x as much for Grey Goose.

re: Nerds... your theory is exactly correct. My dad is the guy who designed the nerds box with the sliding top. One day he came home from work with a plastic bag full of these candy scraps and said, "they're trying to figure out how to market these candy crumbs... crazy... it'll never work" But he sure did design a cool box, that was his job. He designed hundreds of consumer packaging, and he never considered that one to be anything special... but EVERYONE my generation remembers the Nerds box. As an aside, (technically this whole comment is an aside), he ran the best dad joke ever: for weeks he'd come home from work and ask, "guess what I'm working on"... we'd guess something cool, and he'd say "nope, secret".... on and on. Finally, it went to production and showed up in the stores, you guessed it, "Secret" deodorant. Let's just say, eyes rolled.

If I may MB's. A very close friend of mine passed away last night. I didn't get to do alot of the things I promised him. I didn't get to spend the time I wanted with him. But I'm glad that he feels better now. He wasn't the best man in the world. Wasn't the greatest he could have been. But he still managed to touch and change the lives of the people he was around. He didn't have very many other genuine friends.
But I loved him to death. And I would be greatly thankful to anyone willing to give my friend Adrian a toast with his preferred Jameson.
Goodbye buddy. I'm sorry I never got to say that to your face. I love you Adrian.

Man! You guys took me back with this episode. When I was in college in Bowling Green KY in the 80’s, I would spend my very limited budget on Blanton’s and imported beer and not have much left over for food. We would go to the local Long John Silvers and they would sell me baskets of crispies for $.15 each. I would put malt vinegar on 1, ketchup on another and leave the 3rd plain...it was a crispy smorgasbord!!!

I would have loved to know what it tested like before the sherry finish. It tasted to me like something that might be really good but then they poured some sherry straight into it. It was okay, and I wasn't happy to have bought it, but felt like the short sherry finish probably diminished it.

Thought this one was quite good. Recommendation: pour a solid dram, nose it, but then let it sit for at least 20 minutes before nosing it again and drinking. It changes a bit and develops old leathery notes (like in an old library) with some hints of char or smoke from good pipe tobacco. Definitely take your time with this one. Worth going slow.

then there's glenlivet american cask; I dread that it'll be like woodford reserve straight kentucky bourbon. I really don't like bourbon but I really like trying new scotches preferably NOT smoky scotch.

CRISSSSPIES... people have laughed when I mention this. I knew I existed in reality when you guys let out some honesty there. I mean the fish is good, maybe great but the batter... that's where it's at!

Hmmm, this video, right after @I Whiskey She Wines reviewed the 23yr, guess this is a sign to 1)talk a friend with a Costco membership into going, and 2) buying a bottle

Should have added a little water to see if that would touch that thin tasting note... that might open up those oils and make it explode!
