Been using a float I designed 17 years ago, I also had to add additional foam after first two seasons . They are made of white cedar. Have 96 out of the original 100 left , excessive flooding has claimed them. They are the cats ass though.

Thanks for taking us along . Do you happen to have a design plan for the floats? They look like they should be added to everyones line for sure.

    Good job.
Although it makes me a little sad that 90 percent of the comments can't figure out how to make the float without instructions.

Do you have plans for you floats? Ingenious design and look productive, also look good for areas they pass thru but don't leave much sign.

If you have time when making more floats, you should do a quick how-to of how you make them. Are those 2x4 or 2x6s?

You mentioned that the majority of your catches, in this video, were smaller. In your opinion, would this be due to seasonal population dispersion? Younger adults being pushed out of the family unit by older, breeding pairs?

do you think you would still be as successful with the floats even the water wasn't at flood stage??thanks

At the point I prefer running footholds guarding castor mounds. They're a lot lighter and take up far less room than floats.

Success rate seems pretty good with them floats, you have any misses as far as snapped traps with nothing in the trap?
