- A short documentary film about Alejo Palacios (@alejopalacios_) an Argentinean painter who lives in an austere and simple way in a small country house, which he builds little by little. Like his life, his work also breathes simplicity in form and austerity in materials, as he uses primary colours and organic materials. This film was made for Alejo's first solo exhibition at the Alzueta gallery, Barcelona.

Great compositions, actually tells a story and the narrative really flows, very pleasant camera angles too, from an observer point of view, looking in.
Great choice using 250D, really makes the film pop and keeps grain to a very natural and beautiful level. If i were you i'd submit this short somewhere as you've really got something for film making.

Wow!!! This only showed up now as a YT suggestion. Wonderful camera work and fantastic color grading! The 250D looks beautiful here. The K-3 is a quirky camera as you know and can have some vertical jitter and flicker. This footage looks butter smooth and clean. You have a vertical emulsion scratch on your left hand side. Since it's completely straight, it must occur at the gate/aperture plate. If you can pinpoint the problem and polish it, you should be golden. Anyway: this looks amazing! I speak a little Spanish (I am fluent in Portuguese): ¡Es fantástico!
Happy to see your comment, I saw several times your videos about the K3 before I bought it. They were really useful! And thanks a lot for the kind words on my work and the info about the scratch. I’ll check the gate and clean it to see if solves the problem.

@@truefilm6991 Just stumbled across this. Is there anything you can do to prevent that vertical jitter or is it just getting a K3 that doesnt have it?
@@HxCOLE1 usually the vertical jitter is very slight in a K-3. It can be easily stabilized in post. There is nothing you can do to prevent it, but it's no big deal at 16 or 24 fps. Much less than an average Super 8 camera for example. You will get heavier jitter with higher frame rates and single frame, but stabilization in post will fix all that and there will be no visible blur.

Thanks! I’ve used the Meteor for everything except for one shot (the one where he is turning pages on the book) where I used a Pentax Takumar 24mm to be able to focus in a shorter distance.
Footage looks extremly good! Can you tell me you've loaded a film to a camera in daylight or in darkroom?
Thanks! In daylight but in shadow or interiors, not direct sunlight

dude i love this. quick question: did you sound design the whole video or did you use a blimp to capture audio from the scenes you filmed? just curious! i know the cameras can be real loud and i've often tried to figure out a solution to the loudness and recording live audio. beautiful film! I’ve always wondered when you shoot film if you record audio separate or if the film camera has some way of doing that… the last one doesn’t make sense but the sound is always so realistic it’s doesn’t make sense any other way- thoughts?
Hey! The audio is recorded separately, this camera has no way to record audio at the same time, plus it makes so much noise when recording that it would be impossible to get a clean sound. So many sounds I recorded on site after filming, having the painter to repeat specific actions just for sound. But many other sounds are from the internet and are added when editing.

@@tiagoalmanca What practices did you follow to avoid light leaks? Just taping up with gaffer tape? Or did you use covers on the lens and viewfinder as well?
@@munijadnan1821 yes, I used gaffer tape and If I was on direct sunlight I covered the lens and viewfinder as well between takes.

Thanks! I recorded some sounds during the shoot and then on post I added more foley sounds from free stock.

Yeah its really noisy. I shot first the video and then I recorded the sound, so the painter had to repeat the scenes again 😅
