Idk if I can do 25 but I can do a few
    1. I will spend the extra money on Hardbacks. THEY'RE SO NICE
    2. I used to read really fast and it worked for me but teachers would always tell me I was skipping things and so I slowed down and now I Reread every line like 3 or 4 times
    3. I just love the smell of old books
    4. There is just something really nice about being near books, whether it be in my house, a library or a bookstore, it just soothes me.
    5. I know I should be more careful, but I'm constantly eating while I read and as a result like 2 or 3 of my books have Pomegranate stains.
    6. I accost people (in a friendly way) who I see reading a book I loved.
    7. I actually really enjoyed Insurgent and Allegiant. I know most people didn't, but I did.
    8. If a story is based off a fairy tale, I'm about 20x more likely to read it.
    9. I used to read every night growing up. Now I don't have as much time, and I usually read while walking my dog (it's difficult)

    • @benjaminwambeke9458
      @benjaminwambeke9458 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      10. Besides music classes, Language Arts is always my favorite class.
      11. I know it's really stereotypical, but my favorite books always were and always will be Harry Potter. Always.
      12. A lot of my books were bargain books, and they all work really well
      13. I've only ever listened to 1 audiobook.
      14. Bookcases are my aesthetic. Like idk I just love the organization and it makes me super happy. I love looking at other peoples bookshelves and shelfies and stuff.
      15. Whenever I go to someone's house, I always spend a significant amount of time looking at their books.
      16. I get along with librarians really well
      17. Sometimes if I'm bored or sad or something, I take all the sleeves off my books, stack the books up, and put all the sleeves back on. Or I'll rearrange my bookshelf, or just take them all of and stack them.
      18. My two favorite genres are Fantasy and Sci-Fy, specifically Supernatural/Fairy t and Dyst
      19. I don't know why I never get tired of dystopia, but I jus don't.

    • @sercemwksiazkach
      @sercemwksiazkach 7 ปีที่แล้ว

I see what you did here with Always
And I relate to you so much! I eat while I'm reading all the time, my absolute favourite genre is fantasy (not a big fan of dystopia nad sci-fi though), I really like LA and my teacher this year was awesome (I usually like the required reads either), and when I go to someone's house I ALWAYS look at their books. There were times when I reorganized their bookshelves, too. And I love reorganizing my bookshelves. It's really pleasing to me and I can't wait to buy new bookshelves, because I have no space on the ones I currently have...

In middle school, my friends and I wrote a Harry Potter fanfiction featuring ourselves. It was before Deathly Hallows and Snape was Potions professor again. Hermione was the Transfiguration professor, Ron was the DADA professor, and Harry was the headmaster. He was ridiculous enough to make our airheaded characters his apprentices.

  • @HannahBihnana

lol your last fact cracked me up because it reminds me of two stories:
    1. My mom never understood (and still doesn't understand) why my brother and I took off the dust jackets when we read. She says "Aren't they on there to protect the book?!" *facepalm*
    2. I had a dream that mom cleaned my room and removed all of the dust jackets from my hard covers and flattened them up and put them on their own shelf to "save space" *cringes x1000000* (which, in hindsight, makes no sense at all, but you know... dreams.) I'm pretty sure I was so furious that I yelled at her like... a lot. And I NEVER yell at my mom.

Here are some facts that we have in common:
I don't finish series much either! Sometimes books just do NOT need to be continued. They're fine on their own!
I also cannot stand the tiny little paperbacks. It gives me a headache to even attempt to read those books.
I also ONLY read e-books when traveling. But only because I'm too horrified by the idea that physical books might be damaged during travel.
I also have not listened to an audio book but in all honestly, I have no interest.
I give everyone, everywhere, stranger or no, advice on what they should read.
And I've never got the "don't judge a book by its cover" mantra. How else would a book grab your attention? I always pick out books by first looking at the covers.
I used to throw the dust covers away when I was a child; but now I keep them on because I realize they're better on them. At least when I'm not reading them. I agree with you; they cannot be on the book while I'm reading.
    Some facts of my own:
I don't really pay attention to or care about book genres. You could ask my favorite genre all day long and I'd have no idea what to tell you.
I have read 'The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak a total of 47 times.
The first time I read the Harry Potter series it took me about 3 1/4 days to read; during finals week. I didn't study at all; I just read and read and read. I read the first 3 in one day, the next 2 on the second day, and the final 2 on the third day.

    BOOKISH FACTS:
1)High fantasy and NA contemporary are my favorite genres but it takes me ALOT longer to get into the fantasy/world building/system.
    2) reading books without their dust jackets (clothes) aka nude, is a MUST.
    3) Hardcover over paperbacks but paperbacks are easier to read....and ruin.
    4) Everytime i DNF a book i feel so guilty i skim through the whole thing and read the ending :/

I live in the uk, and I agree with the stiff pages- I hate cracked spines and seeing a book with floppy pages excites me to no end.
But I feel sad because most of the time I like the US covers more! For example they've changed the covers for the magisterium series by cassandra clare and Holly black and had to go out of my way for the matching, nicer US version of the book, and A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab because our covers r okay but omg the US version is so gorgeous. I guess it's human nature to always see the other side of the rainbow before we notice our own.

I'm late to the party for this video, but two bookish facts about me are direct opposites to your bookish facts yourself. 😁
    1) I LOVE mass market paperbacks. I will read hardcovers thanks mostly to my library (it's the rare book I buy in hardcover), and when a hardcover book I adore and want to buy is released in *trade* paperback format, I sometimes will buy that edition, but I ALWAYS wish it had been released as a mass market paperback. 😊
    2) I also LOVE Urban Fantasy books! I don't think I've read many that are true fantasy, though the ones that I know I've read are ones I've enjoyed. But *Urban* Fantasy is definitely in my wheelhouse. I was introduced to this genre before it was a genre when I read the first few books in the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton in 2004, give or take a year. And I've been reading Urban Fantasy books ever since. LOVE them. 😊❤
Some of my *most* favorite Urban Fantasy series include. . . A) the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton; B) the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews; and C) the Nightside series by Simon R. Green. 😍❤ Honorable mention goes to A) the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire; B) the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter; and C) the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. 😊❤

I like the bright red glasses! Very cute. Vampire Academy has a setting in Russia. It's in a later book in the series. I buy most of my books online. You can find better prices online then in bookstores, period. Ha, I give random people book recommendations too! Once I got a librarian to buy a book for the library (that very day) that I liked. She put the order in while I was there. ;)

I don't eat or drink while reading either! That would be too big of a distraction haha! I have too much to worry about while reading (dealing with pushing my cats off of me so they don't attack my book) to worry about a cup of tea/coffee.

    Bookish facts about me:
    1) I'm a sucker for books with pictures in it. It just adds to the reading experience and gives me a good idea of what's going on.
    2) Like Reagan, I love the look of hardcovers, with it's cute little dust jacket and everything, but I prefer to read from a paperback (the dust jacket gets in the way sometimes)
    3) About a week ago, my sister accidentally ripped the dust jacket from one of my hardcovers (it was from the book Unhooked, such a pretty jacket), and I totally freaked out XD It was really bad, I can't even put it back on the book anymore :(
    4) I will never ever get tired of the bad boy/good girl trope, Idk why but I just really enjoy it. I also love the hate/love relationship trope XD
    5) I don't like reading about older main characters (for example, I'm not into book with main characters that are like, 30,40 years old.) I guess since I'm only 17, I like reading about characters closer to my age that I could relate to. The oldest main character I've ever read about was 27-28 (the book was Outlander).
    6) I used to be obsessed with books/stories about tornadoes, and tornado experiences. I've always been into weather, but I especially was fascinated with tornadoes. I remember when I was younger, I would google story after story about tornado experiences, and read them XD I don't really read tornado-related books anymore, but maybe I'll start getting into it again.
    7) Spoilers (not tiny ones, but somewhat important ones) will completely ruin a book for me and I won't read them. I like to dive into the unknown ;)
    8) I don't have a favorite genre of books. I just go through different phases. Like currently, I'm into historical fiction. Next month I'll probably be into fantasy or something. But I DO have a least favorite genre; non-fiction.
    9) I DO NOT like love-triangles. At all. But there are a few rare cases that are an exception (like the infernal devices-I like love triangles like that).
    10) The fastest amount of time I've ever finished a book (a decent sized book, not a picture book lol) was in a few hours. But that might be due to the fact that it was a book I read it on my computer, not an actual physical copy.
And one more fact: I've never read Harry Potter. And I've never seen the movies. Which is unusual since I've been such a bookworm my whole life. But I'm planning on reading them someday. So don't freak out :P

I take off dust jackets too. When I was younger I used to lose them and not care if they got back to me. The amount of naked books I have lying on my shelf... ugh! Why did I do that! (@ younger self: take care of your books!)

Girl we all will be forever sad that no one's saying "yer a wizard" to us. I can read 100 pages in one hour too! I also take off the dust jackets because I want them to stay pretty, but I'm a little rough shoving my book into my backpack each day. You should see my copy of City of Bones. On the physical book it has paint splatters, worn out edges, and even fingerprints, but once I slip that dust jacket back on, it's beautiful! Lol

There are so many booktubers who are writing books. I am happy for them and excited to read what they come up with (except autobiographies which I have little interest in), but I have just never had any desire to write a book. I have no creativity to speak of and am perfectly content just to be a reader.

Well, this are my random reading facts about me:
1- I used to read insanely fast when I was younger! I could read the first five Harry Potter books in three days. Book one was gone in only one hour hahaha. Now I still read fast, around 100-150 pages for hour, but not that crazy.
2- I re-read a lot. I still read more new books, but I like to dive in a story that I love or makes me happy.
3- Most of the books I read are en e-book (I don't have the money to buy all of them D:!).
4- I never really like Snape, not even after book 7, because I couldn´t forget all the things he did to Harry.
5- I do believe some book adaptations are better (like in The Hunger Games).
6- Percy Jackson is my top boyfriend. I have loved so many male protagonist in so many series, but I can't help to choose Percy over all of them :P.
    7. My favourite book is Persuasion by Jane Austen (and I was so happy when you read it hahaha).
And, well thats all I can think of right now.
    Kisses!

Audiobook recommendation: The Aeronaut's Windlass by Jim Butcher! I know you loved his Codex Alera series and this book is so good as well! I have been listening to the audiobook and the narrator is probably one of the best I've heard + one of the viewpoint in the book is a cat's (his name is Rowl and he is perfection) and when the narrator does the cat's voice and his expressions I simply die. Yep.

I love mass market paperbacks because they are so cute and chubby and fit nicely into my bags, but sometimes with fantasy novels they get almost as wide as they are tall and reading them in basically impossible (I'm looking at you, Brandon Sanderson books!!)

    A Few Bookish Facts
I really like it when books in a series can double as standalone's.
Contempery isn't my fave genre, i prefer fantasy or historical fiction.
While i don't want to write my own book i do write short scenes or stories.

If you are a fan of *Veronica Mars*, I suggest listening to the audio book of those spinoff books, particularly the first which is narrated by Kristen Bell and is AMAZING. Or *Inkheart* by Cornelia Funke and *Harry Potter*/ *The Night Circus* which are both narrated by Jim Dale and are beyond life.. I'm pretty sure he even won a Grammy for his narration. Happy Reading!
