I have Soundbox on iPad and PC and it's fantastic. I love that it supports external storage on iPad. I 'm using the Kromium pack and also creating my own pack using some samples of my own. It's pretty easy to take some very basic samples and make something interesting, and the interface is very smooth and responsive. The sound quality of the playback and the effects on the app is top notch. Very light on CPU too! Also, many thanks to Audiomodern support for a very quick response to my recent ticket and answering a number of questions in detail.

@audiomodern great explanation. On your next updates would it be possible to include vector custom recording of the XY pad movement? Basically, records the XY movements and plays back automation. Read/write toggle switch !
Dope plugin. My only issue is that when you drop in your own samples and map it across the keyboard it's sped up or slowed down like the old school samplers.

No round-robins? I guess it might be possible to use some workaround where you use the different layers as round-robins, if you can get the layers to trigger one-by-one instead of all at the same time. It would have been nice with a real round-robin implementation for each "sound" though.

Well layed out and intuitive. My question is though where is the macros and custom controls? The GUI of a library is the second most important element for a user or a developer, after the sound design quality. If you want to become a true competitor to Kontakt, you should take a look at Reason's new Combinator to see how important it is to easily create a custom GUI without coding/scripting. Once you take this step, success will be inevitable.

However, the easy creation of a custom UI (knobs, encoders, faders, buttons, etc.) with drag & drop function, is far more important for a user's or developers interaction with a library or a virtual instrument. If you don't move in this direction, you will unnecessarily limit your customer base and simply share the pie with the existing factory samplers of DAWs. I don't know many sound library producers who are looking for another program to play their samples. They already have this (with macros) for many years. I sincerely hope that the hard work you've done for today's result won't be a lost opportunity. We've been waiting for years for a VST sampler that will have this capability.
@@aresoltero Understood, Soundbox was created with the intention of loading our own instruments, however we also chose to have the editor fully unlocked and not provide two separate versions. It seems that we have reached a larger audience than we had anticipated and we will act accordingly to shift in this direction.

@@audiomodern it might be a good idea to include a small token library with the engine just so that people can test it out and make sure they're comfortable with using it. Soundpaint does this. Once I was happy using it, I bought libraries from them.
@audiomodern another question please; if we create libraries/instruments, are we allowed to sell them on, for example, gumroad, or are there licensing regarding that? (I know uvi does not allow selling created falcon libraries, just wanted to check your policy please).

For these specific first Soundbox Instruments it was not needed and as a result this didn’t make it to version 1.0. However, we’re working on a few loop libraries coming up next and we’ll bring this along, probably with our 1.1 update. Stay tuned ✌️
I just downloaded the player and installed it on Windows 11 but it won't launch as standalone and it won't load as a plugin. Is that because I have no packs installed yet?

I just got it today and i must admit that the plethora of sound is quite promising for the future of this platform ... the 3 banks already available are pretty innovative, the stack of sounds in the vocal bank for instance is quite unique ... great work
@@audiomodern an auto fill from a selected sample folder(in settings) similar to rando. a note sequencer. a full function slice arranger with randomize in sequencer. randomize effects individually and all sounds.
A random question, If a Soundbox update is released in the future will we need to pay for an update/upgrade? Got the bundle btw. The sound design in these instruments is exceptional! 10/10

Can you import other common formats, such as the unencrypted: sf2, nnxt, Kontakt, HALion, etc?
