I think a bigger concern is the amount of girls that must be getting sexually harassed--if what the man in the first concern reported was true (him getting such encounters dozens of times a month)... Also what does it mean to run like a girl? Some of the gender stereotypes while meant to be comical were unnecessary...

Its cases like the second one that make Korean celebrities worried when it comes to dating. Coz there are always those fans who don't support them just for their talents, looks and personalities, but support them in the hopes of marrying them someday. If not this, they just feel like they own the idol or actor. I understand being a little sad that the guy you like is taken, but there are extremes. And sadly there are people who go to these extremes. I know I can't be with Lee Jonghyun (just an example even tho I do love him lol) but I want him to find love and be happy ^^
I think her obsession has more to do with menopause or a mental disorder. it has nothing to do with the poor celebrity. I like how he said what she is, is not uplifting for him. There are also studies now that the decline in estrogen can bring on psychological problems that may have been held in abeyance by the hormone.

But Top 10 would be: GD and Big Bang- for a rap and hip-hop group, for swag, great fashion sense and crazy M/Vs. SS501- for brotherhood (Members are doing solo things now though) Suju- for entertainment U-Kiss- for a good all-around group CNBLUE- for a rock band Mate- for an Indie group SHINee- for making so-so and silly songs that are not necessarily good but, you just can't seem to get them out of you head and dance to them when you're alone! MBlaq- for Lee Joon (enough said:-) Infinite- for their synchronized dancing and choreography, and having allot of member that have multiple talents. Royal Pirates - my favorite rookies so far (I hope they get more popular!) And too many more.... However its strange, I've never really paid attention to any girl groups. Plus I like allot of individual singers, for real music:-)

Yeah. I agree with you. She might go a little overboard with all the money spent, or too many pictures, but it makes her happy. I was just like "How dare he try and take away her happiness". She doesn't have a job, and she basically raises two kids on her own. She needs something else in her life! And if a singer makes her happy...then she shouldn't change that!

The overly affectionate son is really disturbing. I don't understood why more people don't see it as a problem. The problem is not that he's showing affection, but it's in the WAY that he is showing affection. He is being physical with his mom in a way that you would with a lover and not a family member. Hugging and kissing your family is ok, but not kissing on thighs and stomach and toes and back of her neck and all over her body and holding her from behind. There's something wrong there. Even his expression when he was holding her from behind to demonstrate what he normally does was more like a look that you would give someone you were dating. I wanted so bad for someone to say that he was a son, and not a husband or boyfriend, so even though he wished he could heal his mom's hurt from an unaffectionate marriage, he simply will never be able to fill that kind of void because he's the SON. Ugh. He's trying to fill that sexual role as husband whether he realizes it or not. He was trying to fix what his father failed in doing, but that's just something he can't do. I bet she cried and told him about the marriage problem when he was a teenager, so when he was trying to heal his mom's hurt, I can see him developing this kind of off thinking during that critical time period of mental growth and development combined with all the harmones swirling. He obviously loves his mom and wants to see her happy, but this is too much. Even if there wasn't anything wrong with what he is doing, he should respect her wishes and back off some. It's a kind of physical harassment. And it wasn't like she was asking him to completely stop showing affection. He's an adult now so he should be able to handle it. It's so disturbing when people come on this show because they are being physically or sexually harassed by their own partners, and all the other person says is, "well I like it and this is how I show my "love" so they should just accept it." It makes me so upset that even though they are causing the other person physical pain and/or mental anguish, they are so selfish and disrespectful to the other person that they won't stop. It's very disturbing. The guy that looks like a girl, really all he needs is a shorter manly haircut and more sharp tailored clothes with boxy lines. Something that can give a more manly shape to his body. And probably work on his mannerisms because he does have feminine movements. Most of the guys in those k-pop groups look like girls, so I'm not sure him looking like a girl is so much the issue. If he could gain confidence in himself coupled with a haircut plus more man-like movements and gestures, I think that would help. Maybe when he is able to afford it he could start harmonies again. (Though with what I'm hearing about the medical system over there, I wonder if the doctor was even giving him the right medicine.) It's really disturbing and wrong how people have been treating him. I hope one day they do a "where are they now" show and we can see how these people are doing years later and if the advice helped.

A lot of older generation koreans are still very much conservative. The newer generations seem a bit more accepting but it's still not something widely accepted there. I'm not saying it's right but you need to understand their culture and look at how it's continually changing in the future generations.

I think in Korea, despite universal healthcare sponsored through work/the gov, this kind of treatment comes under cosmetic or elective care. A lot of gender/sex related health issues are treated like that in general unfortunately, in Korea and all over the world.

first person has hormonal problems: that's not something HC can solve as it's not behavioral. It's a deficit he has to live with until he gets a permanent *and probably expensive* medical treatment.
People in his position go on HC not because they expect themselves to change but because they hope people will see it and recognize them and not badger them about it because they know it can't be fixed. It's to raise awareness for themselves so that less people would misunderstand and treat them like that.

I can relate to the last concern. If he is on a 10/10 scale with being affectionate to his mother, then im at about a 7/10 LOL I'm really close with my mom and im a mommy's girl, so i can understand. I think her obsession has more to do with menopause or a mental disorder. it has nothing to do with the poor celebrity. I like how he said what she is, is not uplifting for him. Yeah. I agree with you. She might go a little overboard with all the money spent, or too many pictures, but it makes her happy. I was just like "How dare he try and take away her happiness". She doesn't have a job, and she basically raises two kids on her own. She needs something else in her life! And if a singer makes her happy...then she shouldn't change that!
+silvervixen007 try to look at this concern from the husband's perspective. he provides for his family, he works apart from his family, he can't see them everyday, I guess if he could he won't take that job, who wants live separately with their families? and seeing his wife loving (or I'm gonna use her term), liking another man that much? of course it hurts. if she thinks her husband can't make her happy then there's a problem with her. his husband's jealousy is already a proof that he loves his wife, and he envies his wife's affection towards Dongha. just my two cents.

The overly affectionate son is really disturbing. I don't understood why more people don't see it as a problem. The problem is not that he's showing affection, but it's in the WAY that he is showing affection. He is being physical with his mom in a way that you would with a lover and not a family member. Hugging and kissing your family is ok, but not kissing on thighs and stomach and toes and back of her neck and all over her body and holding her from behind. There's something wrong there. Even his expression when he was holding her from behind to demonstrate what he normally does was more like a look that you would give someone you were dating. I wanted so bad for someone to say that he was a son, and not a husband or boyfriend, so even though he wished he could heal his mom's hurt from an unaffectionate marriage, he simply will never be able to fill that kind of void because he's the SON. Ugh. He's trying to fill that sexual role as husband whether he realizes it or not. He was trying to fix what his father failed in doing, but that's just something he can't do. I bet she cried and told him about the marriage problem when he was a teenager, so when he was trying to heal his mom's hurt, I can see him developing this kind of off thinking during that critical time period of mental growth and development combined with all the harmones swirling. He obviously loves his mom and wants to see her happy, but this is too much.
Even if there wasn't anything wrong with what he is doing, he should respect her wishes and back off some. It's a kind of physical harassment. And it wasn't like she was asking him to completely stop showing affection. He's an adult now so he should be able to handle it. It's so disturbing when people come on this show because they are being physically or sexually harassed by their own partners, and all the other person says is, "well I like it and this is how I show my "love" so they should just accept it." It makes me so upset that even though they are causing the other person physical pain and/or mental anguish, they are so selfish and disrespectful to the other person that they won't stop. It's very disturbing.
The guy that looks like a girl, really all he needs is a shorter manly haircut and more sharp tailored clothes with boxy lines. Something that can give a more manly shape to his body. And probably work on his mannerisms because he does have feminine movements. Most of the guys in those k-pop groups look like girls, so I'm not sure him looking like a girl is so much the issue. If he could gain confidence in himself coupled with a haircut plus more man-like movements and gestures, I think that would help. Maybe when he is able to afford it he could start harmonies again. (Though with what I'm hearing about the medical system over there, I wonder if the doctor was even giving him the right medicine.) It's really disturbing and wrong how people have been treating him. I hope one day they do a "where are they now" show and we can see how these people are doing years later and if the advice helped.

I think in Korea, despite universal healthcare sponsored through work/the gov, this kind of treatment comes under cosmetic or elective care. A lot of gender/sex related health issues are treated like that in general unfortunately, in Korea and all over the world.

first person has hormonal problems: that's not something HC can solve as it's not behavioral. It's a deficit he has to live with until he gets a permanent *and probably expensive* medical treatment.
People in his position go on HC not because they expect themselves to change but because they hope people will see it and recognize them and not badger them about it because they know it can't be fixed. It's to raise awareness for themselves so that less people would misunderstand and treat them like that.
Doesn't the winner or whatever get money though? Any he use that to get medical treatment also?
ButtcheekofKyungsoo The prize money is only around $1000 usd. It can be a lot or very little depending on the winner. I think the prize money is mainly there as an incentive so guests will appear on the show.

I can relate to the last concern. If he is on a 10/10 scale with being affectionate to his mother, then im at about a 7/10 LOL I'm really close with my mom and im a mommy's girl, so i can understand. I give my mom kisses and back hugs, and she always tells me to stop, but i cant lol! But im not as bad as he is. XD
same here, im 23 too I Give my mom back hugs when she does the dishes, kiss her (cheeks, forehead or shoulders) and hug her a lot, we sometimes cuddle, but I do think hes over the top! :l

I agree people in 99.99999% cases irrespective of then being girls or boys behave like a small kid when around their mother. A mother child relationship is the purest of all. We exist because of our mother. I don't think there is anything wrong with him at all.
