    If Tadej calls Lance, he would recommend PR Lotion, a Ventum bike, an a good Manscape lawnmower session.

    Pogacar made some serious mistakes today. The only Jumbo rider he needed to follow was Vingegaard. Roglic is in rough shape, getting dropped. There were a lot of tactics out there today. When Van Aert dropped back to the Roglic group, he closed the gap to Vingegaard/Pogacar to under a minute so all the team cars got pulled out of the gap so Pogacar being isolated meant he didn't get food or drinks from his team car. Once Van Aert reached the front group he was going full gas and Pogacar had to jump hard to get onto the train plus Van Aert just kept drilling it to the base of the Granon so there was no opportunity to drop back to the team car for anyone. Fantastic racing!

    • @Marr150
      @Marr150 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep, he made a lot of mistakes today, and not only today (lack of fueling and going after Roglic was the biggest mistake). I'm surprised that the team director was not screaming at him, "stop attacking, focus on Jonas, and chill". He is still learning, everyone needs to remember that he is two years younger than Vingegaard. He has a much weaker team, and he is still learning. He won TDF two times, once on the last TT, and the second time destroyed the race. Jumbo looks unbeatable, but I will never cross out Pogacar, and I'm really happy that he has shown that he is not a robot. Looking forward to the remaining stages! It's going to be fun :D

    Nobody talks about Roglic. A grand tour winner, with a real podium chance in this year's TdF. He attacks relentlessly, full sacrifice for his team mate. He is instrumental in getting Pogacar to blow up. Then he gets dropped sacrificing his own TdF. He is the rider of the day, hands down. What a guy.

    • @lamejojo

    Another factor is the weight of the jersey that Vingegaard will feel for the first time tomorrow and will carry going forward

    Never forget 2020 tour de france the first time Pogi won because of the time trial he had. If Pogi gets back a few seconds i strongly believe he can beat everyone in the end stage 20 TT!

    • @martinsolden77
      @martinsolden77 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That TT ended with a clime, this year its flat , the tt is 15 km longer than last year where JV took 25 sec on Pogi. He might take 30-45 sec if all goes his way. so Pogi needs to find 1 and half min.. not a few secounds here and there

      Only men can do the helicopter as they move their hips in a way that make a certain bodypart move like a rotator. This has been done long long long before breakdance.

    1986,by the way, spot on for the raw emotion,damn right, it's real!!!but watch out for the stage to Mende this Saturday,it could be very much a trap stage and the last climb is suited for Pogacar but if Vingegaard has the legs of the Col du Granon,well.... we'll see but watch out for that one!!!

    Another important thing to remember about "burning matches:" you only have so many matches in your "book." Once you use them all up, you're toast. Even someone with a big book like Pogacar will eventual use up his supply if he is wasteful.

    It started when Tadej got attacked on the Telegraph and foolishly chased Rogolicz and Thomas instead of just sitting on Vingegaard's wheel. He was still on form at the last climb but still insisted chasing ALL of Jumbo Visma's attacks and these ultimately wore him out...when Vingegaard finally attacked, Tadej had nothing left. Very bad tactics by Podacar today, I really hope he learned something and thankfully there are many stages left where he can recover.

    For the last few stages with UAE organized in good numbers, I kept thinking, "Did this team take off a whole week so that, in the Pyrenees, he'd have a team with only 2 weeks' of effort vs. teams with 3 weeks?" And for the first time, that "He looks salty" comment shows quite distinctly in black or dark shorts vs. all yellow or light. What a 'tell'.

    This was fantastic win for Jonas and for Jumbo, the attack on Col du Galibier was great, tactic was perfect, and final climb of Jonas very strong, but nothing extraordinary, 59 second on Qintana and 1:10 on Bardet, it was Pog that was off today. I couldn't believe my eyes when he pulled Jonas to the top of CdG, he pulled at least two kilometers as a locomotive, at 2000 meters above sea level! Why?! If you see that you can not make a difference, then stop the horses. At this altitude you can later pay for any excessive effort. Great racing anyway!
    Tomorrow Jumbo need to attack again, I agree with Lance, if Pog will lose time than Tour is over, Jumbo is far stronger than UEA if Pog is not at 100% than is nothing he can do.
    Black Wednesday for Slovenian fans today, not just because we saw the first complete blackout of Pogačar ever, but it is also becoming clear that Roglič is not doing well at Jumbo Visma. Today he showed satisfaction at the victory of Jonas, ironically today a new star was born, Jonas will be the center of attention from now on. He needs to go to another team if he ever wants to win the TDF, he needs a team that works for him 100%, so that he is protected. Don't forget that he started cycling very late, he doesn't have the instincts needed to ride safely , because you get this at a young age, so he needs the protection of the team. He actually never get this 100% at Jumbo, maybe in 2020 on TDF, from now on he will get much less, he has to find a new team this year!

    Geraint Thomas made an interesting comment when asked if Pogacar could possibly recover for the next hideous stage. I paraphrase: “For most people, no. But he’s a top, top rider…a once a generation rider. He can come back.
    It is inconceivable, because of my own limitations, to imagine being strong the next day after emptying the tank so badly.
