Randy Smith It's definitely still there, and eventually the whole river will back up, clog and almost certainly flood Quebec. Dammit, middle ice, float away!
There is some ice in little bay along the river, but new ice start this week along the river borders. Hope temp. will go over 0c soon. Two break up in the same year, that will make a record.
I do not known, but you see only a little part of it. When the ice go, it can take up tp 45 minutes until the main ice pass. I make an accelerate of it, because it was to long, see : 20150413134000_Charny_DebacleAcc.mp4
This is French Canadian, I believe......in any event, the poster is speaking French and the word has a different meaning in the original language than it does in English use: "Debacle comes from the French noun débâcle, which comes from the verb débâcler, meaning "to clear," "to unbolt," or "to unbar."" So, clearing the ice from the river.
Très impressionnant! Sûr et certain que l'on ne voit pas ça en France! Merci!
I'd dress-up in warm clothes and take a flask of tea to watch this for a couple of hours.
I’d take a flask of rum myself.
How wickedly beautiful!!
Oh look somebody videoing let's ramble on and on sacrebleu !
I thawed I saw it all.
Dammit, why won't the ice in the middle of the river float away? I need it to float away!
+Gregory Eschbacher I was waiting for that peice to be pushed in as well, never happened, probably still there!

+Gregory Eschbacher , the middle is gone, a little bit more water and go.
Thanks for the update, this was bothering me! Is all of the ice gone now?

Wow I would love to witness this. So hypnotising.
Very cool to watch,
As long as ice keeps moving it’s ok, when it jams is when the s-- hits fan!
Question. Why isn't the ice in the middle moving with the rest of the ice????
Probably because they are a little thicker and they are stop by the dam, they miss a little bit more water to float over.
Impressionnant spectacle ..=)
Is ice still pouring over the spill wave?
Yes in smaller block, there is a fall to the right but we do not see ice
Sounds like a billion plates being smashed
Love it! Terrifying and mesmerizing.
Great video, I'd watch hours of this :)
Espectacular
We want more Ice Chasing. Or we will picket.
Mmm not as thick as other years. The ice.
Your right, i am afraid that the ice will become thinner and thinner, but this winter should be colder
Very nice 😊👍
do it with a drone next year!
Soo all that extra snow and ice is increasing water levels downstream?
Not really, this faces Quebec city. it empties in the St-Laurent river, so barely a ripple.
malheureux qu'il y a une grande yeule qui parle constament dans l'video... :(
wow! Very cool!
Next time stand down we're the other guy is
Impressionnant !
Amazing !
Maravilhoso
What is it with peoole that film Gee would it be so hard to pan right to see down river
Look at the end of th-cam.com/video/TbLl6F0m5Bk/w-d-xo.html. There is not much to see at right, the ice disappear in the fall.
just how many millions of tons of ice was on the move there ?? Awesome

Why isit so dirty.?
Because there is a highway near the East side along the river, and the dirt come from the clearing of it.
why is this a debacle?
