Convoy 3x21D - SBT90.2 - 1800 meters of range [TEST AND BEAMSHOTS] [comparison to Wildtrail WT90]

- Hey guys, here is my quick test of brand new CONVOY 3x21d with SBT90.2 LED producing 7000 lumens and it's claimed to make 825 000cd/around 1 800m of range. As you can see it has almost the same intensity as Wildtrail WT90 (2000m of range), which Convoy due to smaller and shallower reflector is making throught higher lumens value. It's great light for momentary turbo for me, as I'm using throwers only in highest mode, only for a few seconds burts to see what's there in front of me, but when it comes to output sustainability it's poor - it drops down to 20% of brightness and it's loosing it's range at all. Light after a few minutes is just a little warm, so it could sustain at the higher level, but it doesn't with it's driver. Anyways it doesn't bother me at all, as I mentioned before, bit I know other people find it very important.
Also here is comparison to TrustFire T9R with SBT90.2, which is smaller, but it's claimed to reach only 200m less range. Let's see how does it perform!

how is it compared to the manker mk38? is there a difference in range?
why to MK38? There is totally different beam profile and application - MK38 has less range for sure 😁
since they are similar in size, they have a similar range. I think it's better in practice, and is it worth overpaying for a wider beam?
@@tehnoprank1 haha, nooo, MK38 is 2 times smaller. It's worth every penny - that's my favourite high powered flashlight (SFT40 version) and I highly recommend it.

I think the light is about 1300 meters only, not 1800 meters as written?!

@@protechteus No, I don't have that kind. But according to what I saw in the video that I explained, the illumination reaches approximately 1115 meters.
@1E4776657 no, it's just a point in terrain I lit by flashlights located 1150 meters from the place I'm standing. If the place is lit visibly good like here it reaches way more than 1150m.

What are the lumen and candela measurement values of this flashlight, do they reflect the reference values? I would like to get your opinion on this flashlight. would you recommend or should I buy another long range flashlight my dear friend?
hey there, infortunately I'm not able to do those measurement, while I'm only able to test it in real life through the beamshots. All I can say I believe to it's factory claims due to cd and lm, while it's visibly brighter beam compared to WT90 (5500lm). Throw is almost the same ✌️ If you are looking for impressive momentary long range - it's good loght, but if you are lookimg for high sustained output - it's better to buy WT90.
@@protechteusDoes the Convoy flashlight have a noticeable sudden drop of light in turbo mode? The reason I love the Convoy 3X21D flashlight. I'm thinking of buying it because it has a type c charging socket on it because when I go out on the field, I will not need to change the spare battery that I will constantly charge with the powerbank. But on the other hand WildtTrail WT90 flashlight has a charging port inside, it needs to be removed and I don't know the power and range of your WildtTrail WT90 flashlight light. I've used the Convoy L8 before, it's the longest range flashlight I've ever owned. I want a longer range flashlight than my convoy L8 flashlight, thank you in advance for your suggestion and advice. Do you understand what I mean, my dear friend?

Is it true that they skimped on the driver for this thing?
It's just a FET driver, same as the L7.

zależy od przyjętych kryteriów oczywiście, na czym Ci zależy w porównaniu?
@@protechteus te 800 lumenow po zejściu z mocy trochę średnio, L7 zatrzymuje się chyba na 2500, ale mocno się grzeje. Która ma lepszy throw in real life scenario? Która byś wybrał i dlaczego?, thx
@user-wb9tn4tw2d większy reflektor - większy zasięg, więc jeżeli szukasz faktycznie maksymalnego zasięgu chwilowego, to 3x21D (jest większa). Ja throwerami nie świecę długo, więc te 800lm po spadku na mnie nie robi aż takiego wrażenia na dłuższą metę.
@@protechteus w sumie racja, właśnie zobaczyłem że jest też convoy l8, ale tu może być problem z ogniwami wysokopradowymi...

Dlaczego Belka z Convoy jest niebieska a WildTraila Biała skoro to ta sama Dioda?
zgadza się, to SBT90.2 i może być to zależne od wielu czynników: inny bin diody i temp. barwowa (jedna jest 5600K, druga 6500K), inny reflektor, inna powłoka na szkle.
Ciekawa sprawa bo różnica jest duża a według specyfikacji obie są 5 700K
Na innych filmach Convoy 3x21d ma taką samą barwę jak Convoy L8 a L8 jak WildTrail WT90. Czyżby robili różne warianty 3x21d?
@@stanislawmakowski1288 nie ma co porównywać innych filmów do moich, bo raz, że kręcone innym sprzętem, a dwa - że mogła być inny bin diody z inną barwą i wnioski można wyciągnąć różne. Możliwe, że masz rację 😁
A w specyfikacji Twojego egzemplarza Jaka temperatura jest podana? Bo tak na oko to wygląda nawet na 6500K

@@LabiaLickerit’s only $92.. my god.. it isn’t very expensive.. ur likely one of those, “if it isn’t $5 it’s a waste of money” type of people, then replace it every year or 2 because the switches are junk 😆😆 I bet you look at lep flashlights and say.. “those are worth at max $15”.. 😆😆 yet the whole time u have no idea what you are talking about and showing you are truly a 12 year old on his mommy’s computer… better go look up what lep flashlights are so u can try to defend yourself 😆😆
