We've been to the Mine, as tourists, and it was great. Unbelievable what the miners and the mules worked through. In those days, there were real Men and real Workers. Probably not possible in modern times.
Why are recreational gold mine sites held to a lower safety and health standard than active gold mines in Colorado? Isnt public safety the focus folks?
@@shauno1970 I don't doubt it. Harnesses, trama braces, first aid, water, ropes, etc will be needed potentially. Just hope they all recover from the situation.
They tie a string a round the waist of the person and use a helicopter to pull them straight up in a maneuver known in helicopter mine rescue groups as “toadstooling”

@Bjawae I agree 100%. If you don't have stomach or gastric issues you wouldn't understand I guess. Gut expansion is a real thing. It makes you very very sick. You should never hold it that long. I can't remember the actual terminology, but I have had it happen. STOMACH PUMP and all. Very gross

My Great Great Grandfather worked in Cripple Creek back in the day, but I don't know if he was a miner. I hope to visit there someday.

There are mining regulations/requirements to have a secondary escape route in all active/open mines . I used to work underground.
