      Hi, Carin. Thank you so so much. I am excited about being in the magazine. I’m waiting to get this month’s issue in the mail so I can flip through the pages. Lol. Can’t wait, and yes. The fabrics were super cute and great to work with. Thanks again.

    What an honor to be spot lighted in Sewn magazine. Congratulations!! I have the Kalle pattern (making it soon now). I love the way you styled them both!! Looking forward to checking you out in the magazine.

      Hi, Debbie. Aww. Thank you so much. I was so excited to be in Sewn Magazine, and it is such an honor that I am so grateful for. I hope you enjoy the April issue and any other issues you may get in the future. Have fun making your Kalle top or dress. It’s a cute pattern for sure.

    Congratulations on being featured in Sewn magazine. I like the compare and contrast on the two tops. That price for the Kalle top was a bit pricey to me

    • @Manecoarse
      @Manecoarse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Joyce. Thank you so much. I am so excited. I haven’t seen the issue yet. It should be in my mailbox any day now, and I can’t wait to get it. The price for the Kalle is definitely more than the price of Simplicity, especially when Simplicity has the $0.99 sales, and I hope we continue to see more of those sales this year.

      Hi, Lorraine. Thank you so much. I definitely try to get better each time I make something. This was my first time sewing a hidden button placket, and I enjoyed learning how to do one.

    Thank you so much for this video! I loved this idea. I just noticed that the Style Arc Blair Pattern is also similar. I love that these two have a sew along support. I think a lot of the techniques they show in those could be applied to other button up shirts. Both of your versions turned out so cute! Both of these patterns look great for a nice cotton. Happy sewing!

      Hi, Natasha. You’re welcome. I hope the video was helpful. I will have to look up the Blair pattern by Style Arc. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. Thank you so much. It was fun making these tops, and the cotton fabric was really nice to sew with.

    Both tops are so nice and I need the lips 💋 fabric in my life! I have been meaning to order the Kalle Dress pattern for a while. I want to make the shirt dress. I'm so excited for your debut in Sewn Magazine! When you announced it on Instagram I immediately went to their website to purchase it! Your comparison was awesome! Your husband is too funny! I heard his voice cheering you on behind the camera 📷. Great work! Oh.... love the washing machine clip 😉!

      Thank you so much. The fabric with the lips is cute, huh? I think Michelle did a great job picking the fabric for the tops. The cotton was so nice to sew up, and the Kalle shirt dress is super cute. That would be a great summer dress.
      Awww. Thank you for ordering the magazine. The support is so sweet and warms my heart. I’m hoping to get my issue this week. I can’t wait to flip through it.
      I’m glad you liked the video and yes, that indeed was my husband’s voice. Lol. Thanks again, Tee.

      Hi, Barbara. I hope you're doing well. It's always so nice chatting with you. Thank you so so much. I am so happy and excited to be in Sewn Magazine. I hear you about the price of Simplicity patterns. Those $0.99 or $1.99 sales are lovely when they come around.

    Congrats on your collaboration with Sewn magazine...how exciting. Love both tops. I applaud you on how nice your hidden button plackets came out. I've always had trouble with those. Exceptional job on both projects. Lastly, I am very curious as to how you did that camera shot from "inside" the washing machine.🤔

    • @Manecoarse
      @Manecoarse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much. I am very excited about being featured in Sewn Magazine, and the tops were fun to make. I’m so glad the hidden plackets turned out okay since it was my first time sewing them.
      I have a GoPro camera. It’s a little bitty camera. I pressed the record button on the GoPro and then placed it inside the washing machine and closed the lid. 😉

      Hey, Crystal. Thank you so much for watching. I thought it would be fun to play with the stripes a little bit. I couldn’t wait to see the final look to see if it matched the idea in my head. Lol. I think you would like sewing the Kalle top. The dress is cute too. I hope you make it!! Thanks again, Crystal. :)

    I never ordered Sewn Magazine before but since you are in it I will order it. Congratulation!! Both blouses came out great. It looks like they both show your stomach. We know you not going for that, lol. 😁 I will keep that in mine when I sew the Simplicity. You styled them very nice. I like the lipstick material.

    • @Manecoarse
      @Manecoarse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Sonya. You are so right that I didn’t want my stomach to show in these tops, and I’m glad seeing the Simplicity top was helpful for when you sew your Simplicity top.

      Hi, Vanessa. I think I remember seeing your version of the Kalle. I remember seeing one you made that has the shorter placket that doesn’t button all the way down to the hem. It stops part way down, and it is so nice. I definitely remember that. I love all of the different ways that the Kalle can be done.
      Thank you so much. These sewing makes were fun to do for sure.
