Driftin blues - Albert king Well I'm drifting and drifting, Like a ship out on the sea. Well I'm drifting and drifting, Like a ship out on the sea. I dont have nobody In this world to care for me. If my baby ,,,,,would only take me back again If my baby ,,,,,would only take me back again. I ain't good for nothin' woman And I aint got no friends. I give you all of my money, Tell me what more can I do. I give you all my money, Tell me what more can I do. you just a good little girl Baby you just won't be true.
I learnt this song from John Lee Hooker and only recently did I come across Charles Browns killer original and now this version. It's a great song and all takes of it have their merit, because they have all been recorded by great musicians. There is an amazing performance from Charles Brown in a club on here, what a pianist.
In the late 80's I heard an A K song on the radio about a dance hall where someone threw a gun or a bullet into a wood stove and emptied the place. LOVED that song, but can't remember the name!! Can anyone help??
You guys know this is a cover itself, right? It's originally by Charles Brown with Johnny Moore's Three Blazers from 1945! THAT'S the version that can't be touched!
Sorry about cutting off the song. I forget why I faded the song out when I did. I think my copy just abruptly cut off so I faded the ending out just so there was no abrupt cut off. If I find a better copy I'll send you a link.
this is the best music - down with southern soul

Gatemouth Brown does a version with some really, really outstanding guitar work. So does Johnny Winter.
