The thing that always got me stuck on topsouls was how to get my leg low enough to have the frame grind paralell with the coping/ledge/rail.

Hey Tyrone. For sureee. You really are going into untouched territory with that bend. It’s going to feel harsh until it doesn’t haha. Stretching is crucial, strengthening only helps. In the end, if you push, you yourself are going to feel on top. Alive! You got it. I know you do.

im so scared of getting stuck on copings, what can I do????

It's very hard to answer to a question like that without more information. What you can and can't already do. You could try to find a lower quarter or half pipe. Or you take a step back and just role over the coping and try to role slower and slower every time until you stall.

Hey hey! I totally understand what you’re feeling. I recommend you pump back and forth on a mini ramp until your wheels are hitting the coping. If you’re terrified, get big padded knee pads from triple 8 or 187 Killer pads, or Pro Tech. With these knee pads, you won’t feel anything when you drop down to your knees. Your process needs cushion to coax you through the fear and into confidence that you WILL roll right over the coping, securely back into the ramp. So back to pumping a mini ramp or a small-not-super steep quarter pipe, when your wheels begin to hit the bottom of the coping, push yourself with a little extra power and allow your feet to feel the coping a tad higher. Feel as your wheels roll over with ease, and if you need to, after you roll in fall to your knees. This is just to process the feeling of wheels rolling the coping. This part is all in our head. The beginning stages of “I’ve got wheels on my feet, this is foreign, and it doesn’t make sense that these wheels are going to ROLL OVER THAT COPING!” Haha I thought the same thing for a loonnnng time. Trust me. Next time your practicing, trust yourself. Push through babyyyy! You’ve got it. We just have to ignite our super strength. It lies dormant underneath our fears. But it’s there and it’s waiting for you when you’re ready. Everything at the right time. I believe in you.

I just hit you up on Instagram but I wanna say this on TH-cam too. I respect you skating and I really appreciate you trying to help other skaters like myself to get better. You are fucking awesome and hopefully if I’m ever in California and we Can go rollerblading together. But then also I would love for your boyfriend to join us because him riding the scooter is fucking awesome to. Because I can do backflips on rollerblades and I would love for me and him to both do backflips on wheels

I married a jumpin Dalton Smith. ❤️‍🔥 We are both working on Roll Through Fear together. ⚡️ if you ever come through TN, hit me up! Let’s get it!
