    Great job, Samantha. I could see the textures just fine - BUT - I'd love to see some examples of your finished work where you've used some textures like these.

    I'm glad I saw this video, not only because I'm beginning to work with clay myself, but because I work in an art supply/general crafting store and we have a section for clay. That's what I've begun to suggest to parents looking for art projects for their children. Of course, an adult has to be involved because the clay has to be baked, but the children will have to use their imaginations to create art, and what you've shown in this video is an extension of that lesson. Yesterday I went to work thinking that we only carried a few ways to create a pattern in clay. Now I'm thinking we probably have 1,000.

    Just starting to work with textures & needing a bit of inspiration. This video absolutely genius, some things are simple but I would never have even thought to use them - thank youuuu!! 👍👍🙌🙌

    Another idea would be to pick up some of the bolts out of the garage or hardware store and roll them across the clay. They make some amazing textures! Thanks Samantha!❤️

      I've often wondered how baffling it would be for someone to find my jars of texturing items! They'd see it as a jar of weird old junk, but to me, they're little treasures 😊

    I found that the pull tab foil lid on my husband's coffee creamer has a wonderful texture which I will be using on a slab box I am going to make tomorrow. I am so pleased I found it. Talk about unexpected!

    Oh, brilliant! This reminded me that I have a big ol' drawer full of textures that I collected for another purpose - they're coming in the house now for polymer clay! Thank you for this episode!

    LOL, us polymer clayers find all kind of items for textures! Everywhere I go I am finding awesome items to texture clay. I have an odd assortment of strange items: a broken decorative plastic hair band, an old comb, a bottle cap, plastic flip tops from orange juice, etc. But thank you for suggesting other items I haven't thought of.

    Samantha, could you sometime do one on tips and tricks- UV, regular resin and other finishes broke down into each subject? Then when we need a refresher we can just look in tips and tricks? Like pros and cons. Flatten texture before UV resin for a example. Thanks!

    Speaking of "absurd"..., I use the soles of (new) shoes to make my own textureplates..! I make them from cheap silicone and cornstarch, in equal parts, and a few drops of baby oil (There are many tutorials about that on You Tube). You 'll be surprised by looking at soles...😜! Also leaves and glass bowls and plates..!

    Hello Samantha, can I ask if its okay to sand beads with textured surface ?

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, just be careful how much clay you sand away as you can remove the texture.
